so nice! it really suits you. i too would like to be wearing that in these between extreme seasons. is that the recommended yarn?

oh i lvoe it! i love the shape of the neck. the stripes on the neck is because of the yarn or because of the stitch you used?

very very pretty Smiley

it was very very easy. basically you knit a very low cut vest, and pick up stiches all around the top then knit up. the v is crested by decreasing in the center of each side. the stripes are garter stitch with cotton braid and cotton glace. having struggled with a cotton glace cardigan for years ( i had to go down to the teensiest needles) i was reluctant to use it ever ever again, but it is doubled here and therefore bearable for a woman with my attention span!

i think you should all knit this top it is so fun. i would like to knit it again with a different yarn, but i am not sure what i could use that would be light enough and cool enough. maybe cotton tape? rowan is so expensive though. do you guys have any cheaper ideas?

thanks you guys!

for the compliments on the top of course, but most especially for the mischa barton ones!  Smiley no one has ever made that connection before, but when i put my face in the face recognition thingy on the internet, that's who came up as the most like me. i think i do have one of those faces that remind people of someone they know.

a girl's blouse is someone who is a wimp, or not very brave. i am guessing only new zealanders say that then! nothing to do with a fat girl though, i just meant that i am extra extra wimpy.

the colour is exactly the same as in the book. i usually try and change it to pretend that i am at least a little creative, but the colour is what i really loved. in all this winter gloom, i was dying for a bit of pink.

it could be a spring knit, but i am a big fat girl's blouse when it comes to cold weather, so it shall be closeted until the big heat hits.

from beach style, this one is called cannes. and i really like it!

thanks girls!

yeah, my fingers hurt remembering doing it. i think that when i started crafting i had way more patience than i do now. working on one little wallet for two weeks (pretty much solid) would be unthinkable for me now! i am much lazier and expect to get more results from less work. now that is not good! it's all that work and bill-paying taking up my time.  Angry

hey there,

i am so impressed by the professional looking things on this particular board! there are so many beautiful things to be impressed (and a little intimidated!) by.

Here is my contribution, a wallet that I made for my then boyfriend (now husband). i looked everywhere for a cool wallet for him, but just couldn't find him. even ones that were expensive just left me feeling bored. so PLAIN. and he is certainly not one who appreciates the plain! so two weeks and ten bleeding fingers later i came up with this:

Thanks guys!

The buttons were super easy. I got the largest buttons i could from the button shop and just crocheted a circle that was slightly bigger than the button. I then threaded some extra yarn around the perimeter of the crochet circle, put it against the button and pulled tight.
