1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Vintage 1959 Butterick pattern on: July 08, 2007 04:20:07 AM
For Christmas someone bought me a beautiful Butterick pattern from 1959. Trouble is, I had nothing to wear it to. But then prom came up and I finally had an excuse to make it Smiley
The fabric is called Tulips and its a Batik fabric. Underneath the dress, I sewed in a peti-coat. I made two cummberbunds, one in green which is in the picture and one orange one, the same colour as the bolero. Around the edges of the bolero I embroidered this random little line of flowery things.

Well, I havn't posted anything for ages - I also have a ton of stuff to upload, this just one of them.
Today I went on a fashion design course, we had to come up with ideas for dresses that we could make from paper, tissue paper etc etc. We were supposed to be infulenced by the Surrealist movement, but me wanting to be different went for a 50s esque dress.

I apologise for the shiftyness of the pictures =]!
