12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Beret for my Nana on: October 29, 2006 09:16:43 AM
Here's a beret I made for my Nana for her birthday, she's a halloween baby!  Anyway, you can only see it from the top on this pic, but there's garter stitch around the opening of the hat.  I also crocheted a snowflake and sewed it to the hat, I think it looks nice, and she likes it. Smiley

14  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: re-covered pot holders on: October 27, 2006 07:18:23 AM

Love the pirate kitty icon, btw!

Thanks!  This kitty was actually on a shirt modeled by a girl.  I just edited everything else out, but the kitty. Which I love. Smiley

I'm gonna try to recover my misc. potholders and mitts as soon as I find some awesome fabric. Smiley

those are really neat!  Is the fabric sewn onto the potholders or does it slip off for easy cleaning? Smiley
16  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Embroidery Stitch Video Tutorials... on: October 26, 2006 06:58:45 AM
This is really great, I'm planning on making an embroidered bag for my SIL for her 16th b-day, and I need to learn some new stitches besides the backstitch and satin stitch....what's an outline stitch anyway?  Smiley

18  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Jack-o-lantern hairpins on: October 21, 2006 07:21:14 AM
Thanks!

Basically it's just:

Drawn in graphics program (I use Illustrator)
Printed on photo paper
Laminated (I use a xyron machine)
Cut out carefully
Glued (superglue gel works great) to 1 layer craft foam & let dry
Cut out so foam doesn't extend past the image
Glued hairpin between dried layer and another layer of craft foam
Cut excess foam
Painted on back & sides with Scribbles 3 Dimensional black paint

THanks!  I really wanna try this.  Smiley

Made these for the girls that are coming to my daughter's party.  The multi-coloring is sized for a young girl, she's 7. And the pink is sized for a toddler, she's almost 3. Smiley
