31  Marty Rocks! in Completed Projects by cfbandit on: March 25, 2007 12:48:36 PM
Hi all!

This is my little air freshener that hangs inside of my car. His name is Marty. Marty ran out of little balls to eat to freshen my car's smell.

We searched for them, and found the company that made Marty went out of business. We tried sprays, rolls, but nothing worked until a friendly fellow craftster suggested the fragrant rocks at craftbits.com.

So without further ado, Marty Rocks:

Flour, salt, and a half teaspoon of lime essential oil (double the craftbits recipe).

Marty is now back to being a happy little air freshener, and I've got a rockin' car that smells like limes! Smiley

32  My first "fun" project - Cell Phone Holder in Crochet: Completed Projects by cfbandit on: March 24, 2007 11:11:29 PM
Hi all!

I learned to crochet last Saturday at the Stitching Salon in Chicago (not a store, a thingy by the city of Chicago). After trying a bazillion times, this time it stuck! Smiley

Anyway, I've made a few afghan squares for an exchange but I was bored with doing them today and decided to make a project just for me, a new cell phone holder.

Let me know what you think! This is my stuffed bunny Flippity holding it, since its going with my Easter stuff.

Crocheting rocks! Its just as fun as knitting and easier on my wrists Smiley

33  Re: I have a disease, round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by cfbandit on: March 10, 2007 06:43:31 PM
Hi all!

Here's what I sent lilliesoed.

Here's a picture of the new blood glucose case, closed and open. It was knitted and then felted. I knitted it and my totally awesome mom helped me do the inside with felt and sewed in ziploc bags to hold in little stuff that all diabetics have to carry.

I also sent her a new emergency bracelet, since every diabetic has to wear one and the ones they sell in the medical community are crazy ugly.

Plus I sent along my favorite sweetener for diabetics, agave nectar, and a recipe book I printed up with my favorite diabetic recipes.

I really hope she liked it!

34  Re: 50%+ Christmas Gift Challenge in Winter Holidays by cfbandit on: December 06, 2006 01:18:11 PM
My last couple of days have been mixed. I went to do the afghan, and found the yarn I bought to be so badly knotted I have to return it. Grr...  Angry

But, I did make the puppy treats for my mom's dogs, my MIL's dog, and my mom's craft exchange partner. They turned out really cute! I did great danes, dalmatians and doggy bones.

Mom's soap is also molded and air drying.

I also helped Mom make these for puppy gifts:

Curse that afghan - the easiest thing to make is always the hardest! LOL
