I love the idea of weaving in a string of flowers, I'll have to try it!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crocheting onto fabric? on: March 17, 2009 06:09:46 PM
If you want to crochet directly onto the fabric you either need to poke holes in the edge of it, or blanket stitch along it and then crochet into that. Otherwise you could crochet a piece and sew it on.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / ABC Fabric Book (lots of pics) on: November 14, 2008 02:14:05 AM
I made this alphabet book as a gift for a 1st birthday
The front and back covers are crochet. I tried to give each page a different style/technique and each letter a different colour, as well as a variety of textures

8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Ami Whale on: July 26, 2008 11:41:30 PM
Its cute! I'm sure your daughter loves it.

So far all my little critters have the wrong side of the crochet facing out. Is this supposed to happen? Is there a way to do it differently so the right side faces out? Is the wrong side/right side thing going to cause any problems with more advanced patterns?

I actually like the texture of the wrong side and don't mind having it on the outside, but I would like to know whether I am doing it right.

I see what you mean re: wrong and right side. When your piece starts to gather up, turn it so the 'right side' is on the outside. You may need to pull your yarn tail(s) through to the inside, if they're hanging out.
