But basically, bias cut, chiffony fabric handkerchief hem low waist... alot more went into it than that, but thats the techniquey part kind of... I did like... 7 months of research...  Undecided project was to research design and make a 2/3 piece outfit, based on the theme of 1920s. (with a modern twist)...

it's by designer Diane Von Furstenberg

Cheesy cute I love it, I'd wear it, even though my legs aren't stick thin.. who cares, that doesnt look good anyway Cheesy it'd look great with leggings. xx

145  fab fabric.. what do I do though?? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by loukr on: February 18, 2007 02:36:46 PM
I pulled this awesome fabric out of the scraps bin at college, weee free stuff! Cheesy lol.. I have no measuring device to hand so used my foot instead!! the colour's are abit dull in the pic, they're really nice bold colours, and there's no white on it, the whitey bit is actually cream.

anyway, I want to make a tote or something similar with it... but it's gonna be abit plain.. I have black and various coloured fabric paints, and was thinking of maybe stencilling something on it, either huge, or just in a corner.. or like.. painting something on it, or applique.. anyway.. something.. but as far as ideas go as to what to actually put on it.. I don't know... any ideas?? also, if not a tote.. what??! thanx Cheesy x

148  minging strapless dress into cute babydoll top :D (pics work now..!) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by loukr on: February 12, 2007 04:36:20 AM
okay, so I bought this UK size 12 dress in bay about 2 years ago for like... 3.. and I thought hey, I hate it, but it's only 3... how can I not buy it??

It was a horribly baggy fit, the skirt was too long and made me look frumpy, and if I ever did want to wear it, I'd need a hell of alotta tit-tape to hold it up as I'm a size 8-10!

So last night I was EXTREMELY bored out of my mind, and so I went rummaging in the various boxes of clothes that I'll never wear, but won't throw away just incase I might be able to use them for something else... (haha true craftster!! lol) and picked it out. So, I cut away the bust to shorten it, finished off the top, gathered the middle so it looked pretty Cheesy also so the skirt part would fall nicely, added some straps, which convieniently(sp?!) cover annoying bra straps, and I came up with this:

anyone want to show some love or hate?? Cheesy

149  Re: so...i fully ripped off rachel pally...(pics) in Designer Clothing Homage by loukr on: January 28, 2007 07:56:05 AM
Did it use much material? I have this really cool stretchy fabric but I only have like half a metre of it, and I"m guessing that won't be enough.
hey, I'm pretty sure this would be possible, I made a dress in a similar...ish way, and the bodice part basically was just a tube of non-stretchy fabric that was wide enough to fit over boobage... and then the top and bottom was a different, stretchy fabric... I'll post a picture so you can see what I mean:

this was the toile (can't find the actual thing.. damnit!), so the whole thing is made out of stretchy fabric, but the finished garment wasn't stretchy and it worked a treat. hope this helped. Lou xx

Loving the dress by the way Cheesy xx

That's me, Yes I'm lady Rambo! lol and da da da daaaaa I made the monkey outfit that the daddy is wearing, all by myself, it was the first thing I've ever made using the old cut'n'sew technique (ie.. no pattern or anything!!) and I think it turned out PERFECT Cheesy I also made his belt out of some leather scraps left over from re-doing the interior of his citroen DS, and decorated it using paper fasteners and gold card..(last minute thing!)!!
AAAAAAAAAAANd I made the neckachief thingy!! lol

please excuse the face my father is pulling.. he honestly does NOT look like that..! lol.. damn large consumption of alcohol=unattractive belly bulge + dads double chin...hmmmm nice.
