1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / full english shrinky dinks! on: November 09, 2006 01:32:42 AM
this is my third attempt at my first attempt to post a photo - third time lucky!? i made this fried egg pincushion with full english brekkie shrinky dink pins on the weekend, around sunday breakfast time, i believe!
the two photos are practically the same, only one was taken outside, the other inside - which is better, the green or woody background?

hope you like them!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / sock monkey woes on: September 17, 2006 04:03:21 AM
I've made a few sock monkeys now, but i seem to be running into the same problem every time - the tail splits! I have tried using a slight zig-zag stitch on my machine to accommodate the stretch of the fabric, but this hasn't made any difference. I'm really not keen on the idea of hand sewing them, as I'm planning on making a few more! Is there a particular thread that is stronger than others? I'm using Gutterman polyester thread at the moment. Hmmm, anybody else have this trouble with monkeys?
