81  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Garden and Striped Scarves on: September 10, 2006 07:45:24 PM
finished two projects this weekend!  The garden scarf was a pain in the butt and I'm 100% sure I connected the flowers incorrectly, but I do like the end result:

and a close up of the flowers:

The striped scarf was much easier!!!

82  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / First Post!!! Lil' Monkey Hat on: September 02, 2006 10:25:48 PM
Hi everyone!!!
I stumbled upon this board a few weeks ago and you all have inspired me to try out a few crochet and sewing projects Smiley
Here's a hat I just finished . . . I couldn't find the yarn suggested in the book (seems like a few of you might have had the same problem), so I used Caron "Wintuk" which I found at Joann (probably too lightweight, but it seemed to come out OK anyhow).  The whole project went really quickly,  I think it took me just over an hour.
I've got one question for you all:  The book says to make the monkey eyes using french knots but I have no clue how to do that.  Does anyone know?  I used two x-es for eyes, but they make my monkey look dead so I'd like to learn to make french knots properly Smiley
