1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / cherry blossom dragon - in progress on: July 09, 2008 10:26:19 PM
This is my husband's work (he's on craftster as INKorporation, but he's not as addicted as I am yet). It's all stippling with Micron pens (0.2 mm) in pink and sepia over a pencil sketch. The pencil will be erased later. This has 13 hours in it so far, and his other drawings this size (11x14) usually take 30-40 hours.
He'd love some feedback on it, and we'll keep posting pics as it progresses!

Oh, and it's really difficult to take a picture of a drawing - the background of the paper is actually whiter.

Thanks for looking!

2  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / DORMANT: Daisy Square-along on: April 21, 2007 12:05:32 PM
I found this wonderful pattern for a daisy square over on Crochetville by Krystal16. I'm using it as a stashbuster, and I wondered if anyone would like to join me.

The pattern is available by sending me a PM or by emailing Krystal.  I won't post her email here.

She asks that if you use the pattern that you send her a square (either a black background with bright colors or white with pastels) to contribute to a charity afghan. It was a lot of fun to see my square become part of an afghan headed out to a needy child!
Also, she has a blog where she's posted all the squares she's gotten:

This is a very fun pattern, and I'm really enjoying putting them together. I hope someone will join me!

*edited to add - Oops, I forgot to add that if you PM me, please include an email where I can forward the pdf file of the pattern.

Actually, for the next few weeks - please just contact Krystal for the pattern. I'm going to be away from my computer for a while!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / cute japanese candy boxes on: March 14, 2007 04:28:00 PM
My Japanese friend gave me these candies, and the boxes are so cute that I can't bear to throw them away!

I love the playing card theme!

They're about the size of dominoes, but I think they're a little thicker. Does anybody have any cute ideas for them? I thought they'd be perfect for ATCs, but I haven't really found the inspiration to make them myself.

Alternately, does anybody want them? Seriously- I'd love to see them go somewhere that's not the trash. The candy's already gone, though.  Wink
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Simple but luxurious shawl on: October 15, 2006 09:52:50 PM
I'm still fairly new to crochet (and in awe of my husband who crochets incredibly fast), and I'm just venturing into more difficult yarns. This is made from Lion Brand Homespun using one of the patterns on their website. Simple, but incredibly soft and thick to wear.

Folded in half:

and an action shot

I have a question for all of you more experienced at crochet: Any hints for how to hide all those pesky yarn ends? I manage to hide mine for a while, but they always come out after using the item for a while.

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Bead embroidery pins on: September 02, 2006 04:16:36 PM
I'm a newbie to Craftster, and I just can't stop reading.  Smiley This is my first project post.

I made these pins as gifts for my mom, mother-in-law, and grandmothers. I was very happy with how they turned out, and I'd love to know what you guys think!
