1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / King Koopa Needlepoint on: September 20, 2009 08:46:21 PM
I hung this up in the bookstore where I work, near the video game section:

It took around 50 hours to complete (I think).   I stitch the backgrounds as well, so that tacks on hours like none other.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / How funky is your chicken? on: May 06, 2009 08:27:17 PM
This is from one of the dragon quest games, my roommate requested it specifically:

Some one usually asks what kind of fabric I stitched it on, but I don't stitch on fabric.   I use 14 pt plastic canvas and stitch the background myself.   It takes forever but I like the effect.   Here's a WIP shot so you can see what I mean:

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Temari Ball Question on: April 28, 2009 07:29:28 PM
Does anyone here make temari balls?   I've tried a few times, but whenever I'm finished wrapping a ball and start marking the divisions, various circles of the wrapped sewing thread start coming loose.   And since i've already sewn in the ends, it's very difficult if not impossible to wrap them back up tightly.     Is this a common problem and how do I prevent it and/or fix it?   Any help appreciated, thanks
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Another Dragon Quest Needlepoint on: March 14, 2009 08:05:11 PM
This tree shows up in a couple of the games:

It's meant to accompany a god-bird (also from dragon quest) needlepoint, here they are together:

I'm planning on making at least one more, but since these things take around 100 hours to finish so I might switch gears and focus on some other projects for a while for sanity's sake.

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Metroid Needlework on: December 25, 2008 06:38:05 PM

This is the second Metroid I've done.    It took about 8 hours to complete.

I've got a tutorial for how I make these things here
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Goddess Bird Needlepoint (Dragon Quest) on: December 21, 2008 06:32:38 PM

This god-bird pops up in various forms and under various names throughout the Dragon Quest games.   I was browsing through Dragon Quest sprites looking for something to stitch, and this one popped out.

On the technical side: I used DMC floss and 14 pt clear plastic canvas.   I used all 6 strands of the floss for the bird and 3 strands for the blue background.

And for anyone who wants to make their own needlepoint sprites, I've got a tutorial here:
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Another video game needlepoint - this one's different, I swear on: November 05, 2008 04:35:39 PM
Well, it's a little different.   Instead of my usual centered sprite on a solid color background, I tried an off center sprite on a background taken from the same game, and this is what happened:

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Lots of video game coasters (Image Heavy) on: October 18, 2008 10:23:09 AM
I've been making these for about a year now.
