1  My "big girl" Cheytown Dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by funkyfuzz on: May 17, 2009 09:23:37 AM
Well, I have been in love with the original "Big Girl Cheytown Dress" for a while, and I have been wanting to make my own version since I saw that topic posted. Unfortunately, my sewing machine is broken. So when I got to take home my friends sewing machine for a school project (we're making a quilt for our "Final Conference"... it's really neat! I'll post pictures when it' finished), I knew I wanted to make it. So I went in my Dad's closet, found a shirt I really liked, and cut it up without his knowing. I really liked the dress that gatling gun had made, but I wanted a strapless beachy dress, more of a cover-up. And now for my almost final product!

The Front...

And Again...

And Wha-BAM! The back.

As you can see, I opted for strapless, and I made it sort of an empire mini dress. I love it! Now I just have to sew up the last side. Tell me what you think!

2  Art Journal/Life Book/Visual Journal/Altered Journal Thing in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by funkyfuzz on: February 16, 2009 12:41:53 PM
Ok, so I have been admiring Suzi Blu for months and months, watching her videos on youtube and trying several "playshop" ideas on my sketch paper, but I always wanted a journal to try them in. I finally got a pretty good one at Borders, even if it's more landscape-y than I would have liked. It's very... rectangular. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is, I finally started it, and I have the first two pages done. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for me. I showed my Mother, and she got excited, but I don't really trust her opinion, because she HAS to like it. Anyways, here are the sub-par pictures:

Sorry for the blurriness... This is my first ever attempt at one of these, so obviously they aren't that great. But I like them. Smiley

A close-up of the picture in the picture, my Dad and I from about seven years ago.

Second Page. I burned some old cards that I liked, wrote a journal entry, and cut up a transparency. I then used Brads to make it a pocket. Also, my ticket to "Confessions of a Shopaholic".

Oh my Damn. It's a pocket.

3  First ever digital scrapbooking page! in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by funkyfuzz on: May 26, 2008 11:57:49 AM
It's still in its infancy, meaning Im not quite finished with the page, but wanted some feeback. It's for my friend Emma, (far bottom right) who is moving to Minnesota this summer. I wanted her to remember everyone here in MD when she is gone, so i am going to make her this, and possible have my own copy. Thanks for looking! Oh, and the picture is for some reason very choppy, however, it isn't actually like that!!! Here is the URL if you would like to see it non-choppy: http://usera.imagecave.com/rachelisawsum/Emma1.png

It's bland at the moment, and I am MOST definnitely NOT done with this page, but I posted it anyways. The box is where people will sign it. The size is 8" x 8" and will print out that way, but for some reason is shaped smaller on my computer... maybe not on yours, though.

4  HAND-SEWN Sock Monkey With Hat and Scarf! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by funkyfuzz on: November 04, 2007 02:45:00 PM
We dont want him getting cold, now do we? So I made him a hat and scarf. the hat came out better. You can't really see his tail, but then again, I took the pic with a phone. We don't have a working sewing machine at the moment, so I made it by hand. It's my first ever monkey and it took me three days. Mostly because it was by hand. I could've finished it in a day, but I had to stop and do work, eat, other stuff like that. I think it was fun, but I'm not sure if I should wait til I get another machine. I was thinking it came out good for a twelve year old who has never done this before and had to do it by hand... What do you guys think? Here is the pic, sorry for the bad quality...
