This was a custom order for a derby girl in Australia. I love sending my fairies all over the world Cheesy
She's polymer clay and mixed media, about 6" tall and wearing the customer's team colors.

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / TwiBike on: August 26, 2011 05:54:32 PM
I finally finished my first bike restoration and had SO much fun! The bike is about 70 years old and I got it on craigslist but it was UGLY when I brought it home and needed some work.

It's got a subtle theme some may like, some may hate and maybe some may like in an ironic kind of way... let me know what you think!

All the white parts are super sparkly (just like you-know-who)

Do I Dazzle You? (this makes me chuckle like a fool!)

I may order a mini-license plate for the back...Washington of course! I wouldn't want to cover up those cool seat springs though, hmmm...

Aren't those hand grips kind of perfect?

This is how it looked when I picked it up, I loved the skirt guards but that color is horrible!

This is a little different than my usual smaller, fully sculpted figures...16" art doll tribute to my favorite character, in honor of the final movie

More pix on my website Smiley

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / help! bridal shower favors on: May 18, 2011 10:42:36 AM
I am making favors for a bridal shower that I have no other hand in planning or organizing.  All I have to go by is the invitation I received, which I am posting here. The shower is at a resataurant.  I was told "fun and casual" so... I will try to avoid boring and formal!  Any super ideas come to mind? I haven't been to any bridal showers in years! I only have 2 weeks :p
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / waterbottle carrier on: April 14, 2011 06:21:09 AM
Hi! not sure if I ever posted on this board before, i don't usually sew. I sew halloween costumes lol and I've done a few other things over the years. This is something I did for a Twilight swap that just ended. I am excited about this because it is really different for me. I never did anything remotely quilted before, i learned about using twill tape for the strap, i used insul-brite to keep the bottle cool, did a french seam for the first time and I modified a tutorial to work for my size bottle Cheesy Yay me! I was really happy with the results lol

close up: i used inkjet iron-on paper for the chess pieces and just stitced up to the edges.

this is the tutorial i used http://pinkchalkstudio.com/blog/2006/07/10/whiplash-challenge-water-bottle-carrier/ it's perfect!

this is the swap i was in if you want to check it out! https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=377480.0;all
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Harry Potter Kid's Swap? on: April 08, 2011 03:59:25 PM
I am just finishing my 1st craftster swap and my children really got into it (twilight scavenger hunt, but i used to swap alot on a polymer clay board) . My almost-10 yr old son said he would love to do a kids Harry Potter swap and I said I would see if that's possible.

I saw the "must be 16+" rule but this would be for parent/adult-craftster-member to do with child. The adult would be responsible, handle shipping, get the feedback etc, but all the crafts would be kid-appropriate and the children can get in on the act. My son immediately came up with such clever craft ideas that I would LOVE to get something like this going. the quetion form would include the child's interests, shirt size, etc but still keep the child anonymous for safety's sake, it would still all be through the Craftster member's name/account. Has it been done?? He suggested we do this in early summer once school ends. I would like to try it with a small group, maybe 10 swappers.

**UPDATE** it's been pointed out that Kid's Swaps have been done successfully a number of times. If anyone is interested in a Harry Potter specific swap for kids let me know!!

(btw -accidentally posted this is a different wrong section, sorry for the duplicate, hoping the other gets deleted!)
