2  getting ready for fall with frillies in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mich._.elle on: August 06, 2007 06:50:22 PM
so this was a little kids tee with a stain on it and a washed out big sweatshirt.. added lace and the yellow ribbon.
now we have a fall top.... with an overdose of lace. not sure if i overdid it framing the picture. but thats why i cut out the top (to get rid of some of the lace and show some skin). and i was thinkin the pearls help distract some of the attention away from the lace...
anyway, here it is

4  Green/Yellow/Red Hoodie -thanks gnacissej in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mich._.elle on: August 04, 2007 02:11:06 PM
A big thanks for this tutorial --> https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177602.0

I was not fortunate enough to find Veggietales print or anything relatively cool, so I picked up this green cotton/flannel and made my own design by sewing on yellow ribbon (which took some time!). I'm soooo happy with how this turned out and definitely credit it to the handy tutorial Smiley

5  A shirt to match the matchless pants!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mich._.elle on: July 22, 2007 08:04:35 PM
So I bought these wicked pink and grey checked pants for ten bucks... But without a shirt to match. And they're dressy by nature but I wanted them to be casual.
Grey jersey + pink jersey material = this new shirt. I freehanded it (without a pattern) Yay.

haha gotta love the hand in the air , mid pose, clearly didnt expect the camera to go off right then... Tongue

6  Venezuela Parrot Tube Top in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mich._.elle on: July 21, 2007 09:27:30 AM
Again, another old t-shirt of my mothers.
As I cut the shirt up, I used the remaining pieces as a template for the inserted pieces.

Dont ind the backwardness of the writing... its a result of photographing in the mirror.

7  Exotic parrots + Leftover jersey material. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mich._.elle on: July 19, 2007 11:02:40 PM
The parrot part is from an ooold shirt that had marks, holes, and pitstains.  SO, I cut away, sliced up some leftover ornage jersey material, added straps and bands and taaaaa-da! A new tank top!

I didnt use a pattern but I understood how to freehand the upper band and the straps cause I followed the same idea as Simplicity 3882 (a bubble dress) which I have sewn from twice.

8  80's print + bubble dress + Simplicity 3882 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mich._.elle on: July 17, 2007 10:24:47 PM
Ooookay so, this is my third go at Simplicity 3882.  Can't get enough of this pattern (evidently).  I've done both styles, A and B, this is my second time doing the bubble dress style. My first one was an orange bubble dress...THe post is somewhere around , I dont have the link on me tho.
Anyway, here it is. The only diff btwn this and the orange one i made was that I made this one a little smaller and the material is slightly thinner so it hangs nicer.

And then with the waist belt.........Black is a bit harsh with it, maybe a pink waist belt would be better.

9  Simplicity 3882 AGAIn... :) ORange Bubble dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mich._.elle on: June 16, 2007 12:19:05 AM
Sooo many others have done this pattern too - Easy to find , just search Simplicity 3882 and you'll find many forums for it.. This is pattern A.. I've also done pattern B which you can find in another thread..
Anyway, the pattern is pretty much a maternity dress and has thep otential to make ya look 50 pounds heavier from the side. Hence the little tie below the bust i added to give some shape to it....
It is a really easy pattern but I struggled a little adding the top badn to the body but relatively speaking it was still simple. I might just be retarded.  I wanna make this pattern again but the short version of the dress - the top. Itd be uber cute with jeans.
Oh and for anyone thats interested.. I didnt adjust the patterns dress length and Im about 5'6" if that gives u an idea how short it is and you plan to make it... I think this is a decent length. Bubble dresses can't be too long anyway
And here it is

10  Re: Asymmetrical Lace-up Shirt *Now With Tutorial!* in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mich._.elle on: June 06, 2007 06:42:27 PM
sooo finally i got around to making this top. I've had it bookmarked for months. Smiley Used old fabric, bought $1.00 worth of ribbon and ta-da! Scrap fabric from '70's curtains...hehe...
Along with everyone else, thanks for the tutorial.
Oh, and I put a lining behind the lacing so I dont have to wear an undershirt, and theres a zipper in the side. Yay!
close up..
