1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sewing Project Pouch / Bag {Pic heavy-ish} on: February 13, 2011 01:08:18 PM
I can't quite believe it but today I managed to start and finish three projects!

3 small tablecloths, a dust cover for my sewing machine (out of the same fabric as this pouch) and a bag/pouch to hold ongoing sewing projects. I have been meaning to make all of these for quite a while now and just suddenly had the urge to do some stashbusting! This is also my first attempt at sewing a zip into something, not sure how I did but it looks ok to me!

All / any comments welcome Smiley

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dragon Cat Bed / Toy Store on: February 06, 2011 09:17:57 AM
This was intended to be a cat bed but has turned out to be used as a store for their toys! It doesn't stand up very well which is probably why they don't use it so much. Both cats have been in it and one spent at least 10-15 mins lying down in it. That might not be the only time it's been used as a bed but there haven't been any witnesses of further use! When they put their heads in however it looks like they're being eaten by a dragon which I thought was fairly amusing especially when one had their head in it for a few minutes and were wrestling with a toy inside...

Anyway, here are the pics. Let me know what you think Smiley

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Crazy Owl Cushion on: February 06, 2011 05:59:21 AM
I made this for my mums christmas present as she loves owls (and homemade stuff!); it's a cross eyed owl cushion. As the owl has ears that stick out I also made the inner for the cushion and it would have been better if it was a bit fuller but I didn't want to make it too padded as then it wouldn't shut at the back. Anyway, she loves it so that's ok!

Any comments welcome Smiley

4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Off cut cat toy on: February 06, 2011 05:44:46 AM
This is a cat toy made with off cuts from various projects etc, instead of spending a few pounds on cat toys that would end up being shredded by the little darlings!

The 2 squares of fabric I used for the main bit are leftovers from a pack of patchwork squares that I used for a quilt (still in progress!) and I just didn't like the pattern for. The turqoise dangly bits are off cuts from a t shirt I made smaller to make it fit me better. The padding I used for the toy is more off cuts of the t shirt, off cuts of the patchwork squares when I 'pinked' or zig zag cut the edges and lots and lots of bits of thread that I cut off various projects and was going to bin. Also inside the toy is cut up pieces of plastic which was packaging for the patchwork squares and makes a nice crunchy noise when the cats play with it.

I also put some small bells inside which aren't reused or recycled but they keep the kitties interested! Oh and a scrap of ribbon I found to hang the toy off things

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Pink Mackintosh Rose Inspired Silk Painting - Abstract on: June 14, 2009 02:55:46 AM
This is another silk painting I did inspired by CR Mackintosh, this one was basically the rose design but with a few random doodles added in!

I only used two colours on this, plum and magenta, and experimented with different strengths of colour and techniques.

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mackintosh Inspired Silk Painted Suncatcher on: June 14, 2009 02:49:09 AM
This is a suncatcher painted onto silk using a Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired design. It is based on the Mackintosh Rose.

I painted it at a silk painting workshop I went to recently.
