1  Mosaic House Number 9 in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by HSG on: April 03, 2016 11:57:30 AM
In the recent IYP swap I asked alteredmommy to be my partner, and she agreed. Smiley

Made this mosaic house number for her from glass on tile to withstand the harsh weather where she lives. She asked for yellows and oranges with a dark color for the number.

This as it turns out is the last mosaic I will be doing. For different reasons decided I'm selling all my equipment and supplies. Very glad it will go to another Craftster member. Smiley

2  SPAM Artist Trading Block in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by HSG on: April 01, 2016 06:57:46 AM
Seems there was a spat between Blanche and Madge. Madge did not want to share her super secret SPAM recipe. Well, I brawl ensued.
Tried to make the ATB look like the actual SPAM meat block.

Here we see Blanche has taken her argument to a whole other level.

Another shot of the meat look ATB. A thing of beauty, I hear.

Happy Friday all, and have a SPAM weekend. Smiley

3  Re: IYP 28 - Winter Wing Ding GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by HSG on: March 13, 2016 02:51:17 PM
Couldn't hold out anymore, and had to open the package from alteredmommy!

After my husband and I marveled for about 30 minutes, I finally took pictures.

Overall package. The picture on the card was taken by am in Mazatlan Mexico 2013. Love all the rust! The piece of art is a mixed media picture of trees! In case you don't know, I am obsessed with trees and birds.

The home of my new artwork! She did not even know the colors, but look at how it was meant to be here. Smiley

Thank you for agreeing to be my partner alteredmommy!  Smiley

6  Vintage Yellow Tulle Lace Gown Repair in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by HSG on: February 08, 2016 07:35:35 AM
Here is another gown repair I recently completed. This had a tear in the lace overlay in the middle of the back of the gown. Most likely this happened when the young lady wearing it put her shoe heal through the lace. This one is not quite as old as the last one, it's from the 1950's.

Here is the back view of the gown after the repair.

This is such a sweet gown. Hopefully it will now be worn again. Smiley

7  Vintage Clothing Repair in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by HSG on: February 03, 2016 08:28:43 AM
As my part time job I do clothing repair to vintage clothing. I love being able to take something that is unwearable and return it to its former beauty.

This is one of the latest rescues done. It is a 1930's bias cut velvet gown. From improper storage the sleeve had ripped.

Most all the beading was still there and the gown was otherwise in excellent condition.

Here is the overall gown so you can tell the area that was repaired.

8  Re: One Tiny Bird Thing Round Two GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by HSG on: February 02, 2016 03:26:27 PM
cmarion is truly an artist, and I feel very fortunate to have swapped with her twice now. She is so talented and meticulous in her creations.

Feast your eyes on "One Tiny Raven Woman", she can appear larger at any time.

Wing span and standing. It is completely pose-able!

Thank you so much cmarion Smiley I could not love this Raven anymore.

That little bird tin is too sweet! Nice bright colors. Smiley

He is too adorable!!!  I love the burlap and the little twig!  Is the fringe around the eyes frayed burlap?

Great job, HSG!
Burl's frayed eyes are hemp rope. Don't smoke him though Cheesy

Glad you like him cmarion Smiley
