1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need help closing a beanie/hat on: August 05, 2008 02:01:44 PM
Hello everyone. I need some help. I taught myself how to knit. I finished a hat for my little girl, but somehow I didn't know how to close it. I am a vivid crocheter so that is my easy part. However, knitting is a bit of a challenge for me. One I don't understand the language too much. So I knitted my own pattern. Perhaps it is pure luck or just a talent. I can crochet by site too. So this must be a god send. Anywho, I have made my first child hat. I did this with the circle needles. Please excuse me if I don't say the terms right. I am slow with the knitting language.
Then I decreased until I could no longer do this. I then closed it off. I had about 10 st on hook before closing off. I then sewed it straight across. I didn't like that look.
If you want to see my hat it is on my flickr site

Some one please help me. I want to be good at making hats. perhaps my next project will be socks. I hope that is not hard.
Please answer me and help me please.

How to close my hat right? How to close good? Or how to close it neatly?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My first Granny on: June 13, 2008 02:25:33 PM
I thought I would share my first granny with everyone. sense then I have made  Cotton Candy which I listed on another thread.
This one was made with the main color light blue and some colorful yarn in between. Doing this made me like granny squares a lot. I never really cared for doing one sq until I made this one. I changed up the style just a bit to give it some attitude.
I hope you like.

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Cotton Candy Baby Blanket on: June 12, 2008 05:31:23 PM
I just finished this granny square. I thought I would brighting it up and add a few colors to it. I didn't want the same color through out, only because I get bored fast with using the same color. I remember when I hated granny squares. I have grown to love them,,,, well this one I did.
Hope you all like.

Hello all,
I thought I would post my thread bear. I have been resting my hand scense surgery. It is not there yet, but soon I will be back to normal with my hand.
Her name is Candice and she is 2.5 inches tall.
This is what happens when you have time to think of a bear to make when you can't crochet for a long time.

I made this for my new nephew. This is not my pattern. I think it can from one of the free patterns from the store.

This was the fastest afghan I have ever made. I was upset it didn't last 5 hours.
