13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / need help: jeans into knee length shorts on: March 27, 2008 04:03:31 AM
Hi craftsters,

i really want to turn a pair of dark denim jeans into knee length shorts for the summer, but I'm a little scared to start cutting (i only have the pair so i can't really mess it up)!  Has anyone attempted this before that can offer some advice?  I want to have it roll up at the knee maybe like 2 inches wide also.

14  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / chicken souvlaki wraps! on: March 18, 2008 05:41:10 PM
hi there
i am constantly trying to recreate dishes that i have and love in restaurants and i recently tried chicken souvlaki for the first time and have come up with a recipe i that i thinks pretty good and must share

1 1/2 Tb fresh oregano, julienned
1/4 c fresh lemon juice
1/2 olive oil
salt and pepper
garlic minced finely (use however much you'd like, I used 3 cloves)
1/3 c red wine
plum tomatoes, diced
red onion
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, roughly cubed into bite size pieces
2 cups homemade or store bought tzatziki
naan bread

Add the first  six ingredients into a bowl or a zip lock bag, add your chicken into the marinade. I only let mine sit for 20 minutes because i'm impatient but 3-6 hours should be good enough.
After it's marinaded for a bit, place on an oiled grill (i used a hamilton beach/george forman) with red onions and grill until golden brown.  I like to heat my naan bread up in the oven because it is a bit dry, and it tastes good warm.  Spread tzatziki on your naan, sprinkle tomatos on top and then place your chicken and onions on top. you can roll it as a wrap or just eat it like a pizza!

Hope you enjoy!!!

16  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / easiet way to make a day planner? on: January 04, 2008 08:00:43 AM
I need a day planner for school, I normally buy those mead brand ones, but paying 13$ seems ridiculous when I'm sure I can make one on my own.
I don't know how to bind or anything too fancy, but am looking for the easiest way to make a day planner? possibly with a tute too?

thanks Smiley

I was wondering if anyone knew of a website in North America that sells

It would have to be thick enough and metal for me to be able to melt the beads in the oven with, sorry so confusing, can't really think of another way to put it.  thanks!!!!
