21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Any alternative looking people over 21? on: January 18, 2007 03:06:57 AM
Gosh I'm so happy I stumbled upon this thread!

I'm turning 30 this year and this has brought on a need to re-examine my style. I like the way I dress (the boy calls it "Garage Kitty": a mix between grunge and Hello Kitty) and while I'd love to be able to spend more on clothes, I'm happy with my wardrobe as it is. I'm also comfortable with the age I am and am actually looking forward to being 30.

I keep getting mistaken for a teenager. I know I look younger than I am and I also sound younger than I am (I've been mistaken for an 8 year old on the phone!) and while it might be fun for a while to be thought of as being half the age you are, I would like to be treated like the age I am rather than the age I look. It's hard for people to take me seriously as they think I'm a teen, and this is a hindrance in everyday life & business.
Still, I don't want to change the way I dress to look like an average 30 year-old, it's just not me. I'd feel like a fake if I dressed so that I looked older just so I'd look more my age. I don't act like a teen, but gosh darn it, I'll hold on to my right to dress like one! Cheesy
22  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Possibly getting a new Janome sewing machine, need advice & opinions! on: January 18, 2007 02:08:54 AM
I've been reading up on Janomes too and so far pretty much everyone has only had good things to say about them. So maybe the seller was right to praise them so, and it's not only his pitch to get more stuff sold. Cheesy

I'll be going back to the shop soon, and I'll keep you all updated on what I end up with & how I like it. Smiley
23  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Buyer Turn Offs on: January 17, 2007 01:30:06 PM
I know this is more a pet peeve than an actual turn off, but all of you who use a piece of fabric as a backdrop, please iron it before you take photos! I can't even count the times I've seen creased & wrinkly backdrops and every time it just peeves me to know that a simple ironing could have made it all look that bit better and professional. Cheesy
24  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Luchador zombies on: January 17, 2007 02:46:40 AM
I actually first saw these on DeviantArt I think and I just have to say, it was zombie love at first sight!
These are brilliant (as are your other works too by the way) and I really like how you've come up with a whole back story (which is also brilliant) for both.
Fabtastic work! Cheesy

That is the most perfect little bonkers bunny ever!
I love, love, love the super hair. Like Lady Llanalla said, it's the cherry on top of this fantastic rabbit.

I really want to get a Wii now! Cheesy
26  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Possibly getting a new Janome sewing machine, need advice & opinions! on: January 10, 2007 12:43:48 PM
OK, here's the deal; my parents promised to buy me either a brand new machine (or to pay for my old one -a 15+ year old Brother- to be serviced) as a Christmas present.
So I went to have a look at some sewing machines yesterday and fell for a brand new Janome. Unfortunately for the life of me I can't remember the model of the machine as I was so enamoured by how nicely it sewed, but after a quick Google, I think it's closest to the Type610 (http://www.janome.co.jp/home/type610.html). Having never actually used a Janome before I'd like to hear about your experiences with the machines. Good points? Bad points? Anything you can tell me about working with Janomes will be helpful really. Smiley
27  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: What's your DeviantArt?? on: January 10, 2007 12:01:32 PM
Here's me:

I've been a member of DA for ages, and I can honestly say that it's the best art community I know... and I do know a few! Cheesy

I don't feel like I'm killing it. Instead just brining to life an abomination. Cheesy

That's looking on the bright side!    Grin

I agree! Cheesy
It's also a really good idea.

I really need to make our Jaqcues some clothes now too!
Such a great idea to whip up a wardrobe for a Nabaztag, I've only had Jaqcues wear a scarf on occasion and it never occured to me to actually make clothes for the bunny!

Thank you for sharing these! Smiley

Wow! He's brilliant! Shocked
I love the way you've managed to capture the monkey essense in what is, basically, a sock.
Phenomenal work!
