21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Challenge 1: My Moonrise Over the Ocean Set on: February 07, 2010 03:36:16 PM

I love oceanfront moonrises and use a picture of one in my logo.  The calm, depth and quieting of that time and place are particularly peaceful for me.

This is the logo:

This is my wearable Moonrise Over the Ocean.

The whole set:

The earrings (sorry for the kinked picture!  It does hang straight):

The necklace:

and the ring which I'm particularly thrilled over:
22  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / laminating film? on: February 07, 2010 02:00:04 PM
A friend recently got a new job in a school and is wondering what can be done with the extra laminate that gets trimmed off and then tossed away.  She's made sun-catchers with Sharpies but would rather avoid the kids using Sharpies.  She's going to see if they'll work as shrinky-dinks.  I recommended making bookmarks with pictures and clear packing tape.

What else can all of you crafters think of?
23  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Baby Blanket for my 17 year old on: January 16, 2010 03:17:40 PM
My little one isn't a fan of the winter so I decided to knit him a blanket.  When you put it over him, he stretches out under it and naps away.
24  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / seeking Korean stickers on: July 18, 2009 07:10:52 PM
I picked up this sticker pack while on vacation and would dearly love to find a source of it again.  The website listed on the packaging is www.thinkthing.co.kr but when I put it through BabelFish it doesn't help me any.

The stickers are gem-like tiny stones on clear backings.  The package is about 3x6 inches.
If anyone might be able to point me in a direction I can find these, or something similar, I'd greatly appreciate it.  I have Googled, Amazoned, eBayed, and Etsyed, so I'm hoping someone here has crossed paths with these.

Thanks in advance!
25  New York / New York: Central / Free used books in Utica on: July 17, 2009 12:18:52 PM
The library at Mohawk Vally Community College, Utica campus, is discarding several tables worth of books free to those who want them.  8:30 to 7:00 Monday-Thursday, until 4:30 on Fridays.  Closed weekends during the summer.

Have fun and I take no responsibility for your storage issues!
26  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / New Day Inchies on: June 24, 2009 08:22:51 PM

I'm taking part in a year long art exchange celebrating the election of President Obama (here's the project: http://anewdayanewlandscape.blogspot.com/) and I spread the inchies addiction around and made a series of digital inchies that I put together into a postcard.  The project requires at least one hand carved image and that's the "Hope" in the corner.
27  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Inauguration Day postcard on: January 19, 2009 08:41:47 PM

This is a postcard I made to celebrate the day.  It's a multi block print, front and back, with stamps I carved.  The squiggles you see are personal info I didn't want posted.
28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Jewelry making on demand on: November 28, 2008 08:30:01 PM
I have an annual brunch to go to on Sunday morning.  Wednesday night, I received an email asking if I'd like to donate a basket to be raffled off.  A basket of my hand-made jewelry that is.

Which is really code for "all the rest of us want one of those pins you made for Betty!"

Well, everyone won't be getting one and 2 close friends are getting their holiday gifts early as they were getting copies of said pin, but dang if I'm going to make one to raffle off before I give them theirs!

Luckily, I told them that it would be a small basket.  And I actually finished the items today!

This is the pin:

this is a magnet strand necklace:

And this is a stretch bracelet:

I guess better this set rather than 40 centerpieces!
29  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Bridesmaids' Jewelry sets on: October 02, 2008 08:52:25 PM
A friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks and I made the jewelry sets for all of us in the wedding.  Some of the ladies laid out the focal area of their necklaces, but I finished them off.  The earrings are a surprise.  Our dresses are brown with silver accents and an almost sheen of plum.

these are the sets, named after the ladies:
Amanda

Lisa

Maimun

Maryellen

Michele

I still want to try to make bracelets too, but that'll depend on time.  I'm also making the bride's jewelry.
30  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Hair toys on: May 19, 2008 09:41:45 PM
I was inspired by a posting in the Long Hair Community and came up with these.  Its a very simple beads on wire formed into 2 loops.  The two loops are placed over hair and a stick is inserted to hold it all together.

This is the hair stick that works with the hair toy I'm calling Orbit.  But the stick works alone too.
