11  pretty pouches and a pencil case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by raycheezy on: December 21, 2007 06:52:20 PM
Christmas presents, of course. I work in a cloth store, and one of my coworkers asked me to test out a pattern for her. I'm in love with it. I made a few others than the ones here, but I forgot to take pictures. I also made a pencil case with lining of plastic bag. Enjoy!

12  fitted dress jacket in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by raycheezy on: December 15, 2007 06:25:42 AM
I don't have the pattern with me at the moment, but I made this from a McCalls pattern in Apparel Design II. It was FRUSTRATING. I'm not a clothing person, I prefer bags, and this is lined and hemmed with an catch stitch. The sleeves are 3/4 and have a flounce on the end. The only things it looks nice with are tank tops. Grrr. Still, it fits perfectly and I am very proud. Now for the pictures Smiley

The last picture is of the REAL pocket. The pattern was designed for fake pockets and I have an inherent hate for fake pockets, so after much convincing my teacher taught me to make real ones. By the picture I took of one, you can probably tell how proud I am of them.

13  Two sock monkeys: How do I make him less creepy?! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by raycheezy on: December 13, 2007 05:42:35 PM
I made these using the pattern for sock monkeys in the craft discussion board toy tutorials. Obviously, the link would be less of a mouthful, but I don't have it at the moment. The first one I made with a plain sock and it turned out really cute, not scary at all.

The second one is kinda freaking me out, though. I used a decorative sock that's knee length, so the legs are extra long.

I kept changing the color of fabric paint I used for the eyes, so they're a bit wonky now.

Do you have any ideas for how to make him less scary? I'm giving them to friends tomorrow, and I want my friend to actually like him, and not be terrified.
Oh, here's a picture of them together.

15  Flowered MiniMirror in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by raycheezy on: December 02, 2007 09:28:15 AM
I never thought decorating the back of a really tiny mirror would take me 2 hours. It's hard to see here, but their are two shades of blue surrounding the flower.

16  small lined purse, a seriously messed up pattern. in Crochet: Completed Projects by raycheezy on: December 02, 2007 09:19:44 AM
I was originally trying to follow a pattern for a netted(?) grocery bag, but I suddenly realized I'd done the last few rows wrong, so I did the rest free form. Now I don't know what to do with it....I don't carry bags this small....

17  baby bag gone hippy??? (img obese) in CHALLENGE 23 ENTRIES by raycheezy on: December 02, 2007 06:21:21 AM
I found what I thought was a messenger bag at the thrift shop.

Then I realized it was actually meant for mothers of babies.

I took the entire thing apart, replaced some of the more disgusting parts(there's some stuff washing machines just can't clean), and sewed it all back again.

Here's the final, clean product. It looks about the same on the outside, except with a design I got from the last challenge painted.

I also painted different religion symbols on the inside and used the most colorful fabric I could find.

Unfortunately, I can't find many pics of the inside without my school stuff in it. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it was a TON of work. Sewing a hard bottom with a cheap sewing machine is kinda terrifying Smiley Actually, the worst part was replacing the fabric in the hidden pockets on the front and back. Anyways, thanks for looking, especially with my incredible numbers of pictures and comments.

18  A piggy bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by raycheezy on: October 27, 2007 10:34:25 AM
I was brainstorming ideas for a birthday present, and I kept thinking of a stuffed animal pig. I've made that too many times, though, so I made it slightly different.

My favorite part is the little tail.

20  Zombie costume: Suggestions NEEDED! in Halloween Costumes by raycheezy on: October 24, 2007 07:22:16 PM
Okay, so I've never been anything scary for halloween before. I've always been a cat or something silly. One time I was canadian medicine. This year I'm not actually going trick-or-treating(I'm 17), but I'm wearing it to the homecoming football game. It has to be warm, but atleast a little bit scary. OK, maybe just interesting. I'm a bit too tame, but I try.  Here's my attempt. Sorry for the sideways photos.

The AMAZING cloth. The eyes are sparkly.

My darling circle skirt. My second I've made.

Close up of the earrings. I've had them since 7th grade, and I'm in love.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me! What do you think? What can I add quickly(I have to wear this on friday). Shoes? Hair? I'll be wearing a bunch of stage makeup. The tricky part is that I have to stay warm, and the red shirt underneath my cut up black one is scoop neck and 3/4 sleeves, so I can only cut so far down  the sleeves and I have to be careful cutting the front so I don't show the scoop neck.

Thank you so much for those who actually managed to read all this Smiley
