1  Little Max's rag doll with magnetic hands! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by artistrachelmarie on: August 13, 2008 10:37:23 AM
I just finished this rag doll for my friend's son Max (3rd Bday party), and am itching to show it to someone! I just adore him!

Made with magnets in his hands on in the heart on his blanky. He's got dirty farm wool/alpaca hair that's really funny. The blanket is just a felted sweater.

ceramic button eyes made by my friend, happysilence.etsy.com

Here is a picture of Max with myself and my son Octavian. Max is the blond boy, he wanted to hold Occy.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, I am so thankful that I joined this swap! Thank you so much arwena! You picked items so specific to my life that I was almost teary eyed!!! I work around deadlines, so I won't be sending until closer to the due date. I hope I can return the favor!

Something Hard: Polymer clay photo pendant. Thank you so much for struggling through a new craft for me!! The pendant tiles with my son's picture and the sticker are so thoughtful!!! It really touched me! One of the best pressies I've ever gotten! I wish I could give you a hug! I'm going on a honeymoon in march, and am leaving my baby with family for the first time. It will be so nice to have that necklace for the trip!

Something Local: 85% merino 15% silk handspun Montana yarn The logo is so cute, it's a clam shell with yarn balls inside instead of pearls! haha I love it, and it is a great addition to my stash

Something Round: cheery quartz, sterling, and swarovski crystal, Beautiful! Usually I just use trash bag ties, I'm moving up in the world!!

Something Green: Lime Green Worsted in Lamb's Pride yarn (Brown Sheep Company is my fave!)

Something related to the letter T: Toile pincushion, which Tracey discovered the inspiration for in my ETSY faves! Thank you so much! I've been wanting a pretty pincushion! I just got a vintage singer sewing machine off of ebay and this is a special treat for her! Do you mind me asking how you learned to make it?

Sender's Choice: Something Chocolate: I just finished off the square bar of German chocolate, I have no self control...

I was really, really spoiled with high end gifts, time, and thoughtfulness. XOXOXOXO

Hello Hunnies!

I haven't started my mitts yet because I got my ball late. Starz was so nice and included a cable hook, so that will be a big help! I've never done cables before and this will challenge me.

What can I say? I love everything!
2 handmade bags
felty things
cable hook
lots of fiber!
2 patterns one easy one hard
cut craft kit
Very cute hotdog and hostess stitch markers, I always use twistie ties so these are much needed!!

Thanks so much starz! and I will post my progress on those mitts. I have a bunch of knitting to do, so I am sorry if it isn't for a week-a month. I promise I will get them on my needles ASAP!! =)

How are you doing with your ball? I have to admit, the good stuff is deep in the inner core haha.

5  Fiber Art Charlie Red Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by artistrachelmarie on: February 17, 2008 01:07:10 PM
This is a combo of knitting (icord) embroidery, sewing, felting, and dyeing

Contains: vintage plastic flowers, vintage fabric, wool felty goodness, handspun, hand dyed yarn, felted hand dyed closure, vintage lace, vintage fairy tulle with glitter, handmade ceramic button by happysilence.etsy.com, sparkle pom poms, and vintage pearls (I don't think the pearls are real, but am not sure)

Just freestyle, if you want to make your own, just sew a base and embellish from there.

OMG!!! MY MYB finally made it here, it looks like it has already been opened once. It has obviously been on one heck of a journey, but it's finally made it!!! ahhh I'm so happy it came. I didn't get a chance to really look at it yet due to my excitement I went ahead and took a few photos. I'll post again soon with details. Thanks so much Starz217, love love love it!

*Throws confetti* Horray! I'm so happy because this has been a really enjoyable experience, and I didn't want it to bring any stress to anyone. and having to lose a whole yarn ball would be pretty devastating... all of the time and money put into them. and love! So again, so thankful and happy!

8  FOs: Bag, Mitts, Hats in Knitting: Completed Projects by artistrachelmarie on: January 19, 2008 05:11:44 PM
Intergalactic Cabbage Bag was knit/felted on my knitting machine
Made with Knittydirtygirl hand dyed yarn in Intergalactic Cabbage,
button handmade by happysilence.etsy.com
My vague notes, I just sort of freestyled:
CO 40 and knit one really long piece, then CO 40 again and knit one not so long piece, crocheted edges, icord strap
It's my first bag knitted using my knitting machine, and I'm so happy with it, I want to make tons more. Next time I'm going to embroider flowers.

These mitts I knit for my little neicey using Knittydirtygirl handspun in the color "Olivia" the pattern is adapted from the fabulous book Weekend Knitting

These two hats were a collaboration, I gave my handspun to my friends with some ideas on what I was looking for and then they knit them for me.

This one is a variation of the pattern "Kim's hats" and the yarn used is Knittydirtygirl Swamp Thing and Olivia. It came out sort of huge, would fit someone with big hair or dreadlocks. I love the ear flaps!

This next one is another variation of Kim's hats and the yarn used is Knittydirtygirl Mish Mosh and Gloom
