Thanks Kappy, That really does help, thank you for the insight. I am def going to try experimenting this weekend. I'm excited and wish I could leave work early to scoop up some supplies. I'll let you guys know what my results are!

Thanks again!

These are awesome... what a great idea! It's really given me some ideas of my own, and I have some questions.

Once you remove these from the oven, would you be able to press things into the melted plastic? I was specifically thinking bottle caps or pop tabs... broken glass perhaps?

How about mixing or swirling the plastic? Can I throw some glass beads in and spice it up?

I'm a bead melting virgin, but want to take a shot at making some coasters this weekend.

I'm also still kind curious about the lip... someone asked earlier if you could press a small glass or bottle into these when they almost set to create a small lip... will this work?

Thanks guys!

Very Cute! I am also very curious as to what you are using to glue down the paper and what, if anything, you used to seal it. I'm always working with paper and curious to know what works for other people.   Cheesy

I agree as well... I wouldhave at least painted a base coat before I glued down the pictures. You can always fill in the spots with more pix or found objects and then seal it again. Is that one of those 3 legged tables?

I went to Michael's last night and apparently they are in cahoots with Mod Podge because they don't carry Liquitex or Golden. I'm going to venture out to Hobby Lobby this weekend... I'm sure they have a larger selection.

We did not do the ribbon like you did. I think that was a great idea on your part.
We added a small peice of elastic so they could be worn as rings and a larger peice to some so that could be worn around the wrist.

Yep... my friend just found one while cleaning out her grandmothers house... I think this idea goes back to the 50's.
