1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Reviews of Hooks and Boston area shops on: October 03, 2006 06:09:15 AM
I'm an intermediate-level crocheter, and I recently moved to college and left all of my hooks at home.  Sad

I recently bought a set of Susan Bates Crystalite hooks (F through K) off eBay.  However, I read some reviews on JoAnn that said the smaller hooks (what I bought) tend to break easily.  Does anyone have any experience with those hooks?  (I used Boye at home)  If indeed the Crystalite hooks suck, are there any relatively inexpensive brands you would like to recommend?

Also, does anyone know of any lower end yarn shops in the Cambridge/Boston area?  (i.e. Michael's or JoAnn)
