1  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Sublime Stitching - THE NEW BOOK! Out 10/06 on: August 12, 2006 04:11:36 PM
I just pre-ordered my copy from B&N.  Can't wait to see it!  YEAH!

Thanks for the hints about storing the transfers.  I didn't like chihuahas either until a women brought one into work (I work at a senior day care center).  It is a long-haired chihuaha and very cute and well behaved!  It is her personal dog and trained to be a therapy dog. Hey, a puppy blanket would be cute!  I'm working on my tea towels and the stitching is coming good - hope I like the final design!

The new patterns look really good - I see a few I am going to purchase for sure.  I am really getting hooked!!!
Where does everyone keep their transfers?  I hope that the ink won't rub off when not using them.

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: hello everyone! on: August 11, 2006 06:07:02 PM
Thanks for the welcome!  I was working on the tea towels tonight and thoroughly enjoying myself!  My french knot even came out fairly well! One did look more like a bullion, but thats okay.  It will be fun being creative with all the transfers.  One thing I've been wanting to do is a wall tapestry.  I saw one in a book on embroidery, and each square is done in simple outline stitches (or others if you want) and each should tell a story - something from your life. You can make it as big or small as you want.  It is done in squares and then sewn together.  My first thing is to collect the pictures I want to use!  In time...... I will post a picture of my tea towels soon.  (Good thing my son knows computers!)

Hi fellow embroidery fans!  My name is Connie, and I have just begun the tea towels in the stitch it kit!  Embroidery is fun, and a simple pasttime. I love linens, and want to embroider some pillowcases and perhaps some placemats. I have a plain blue jean top which would be fun to do!  I see a new book from Sublime Stitching is coming out, and I know I will buy it.  Isn't it so good needlework and embroidery is indeed NOT a lost art!
