1  Prohibition has made nothing but trouble-Al Capone in Weddings and Bridal Showers by BeltainE on: March 29, 2010 05:58:13 PM
So the Future Husband and I decided that we didn't want to do the whole white wedding with all the Ooh's and Ahh's. Mainly because this is my second wedding (i've done the whole ooh and ahh before) but we still wanted a wedding because this is his first wedding, and it's always been something he's wanted and something his family would be really disappointed if we didn't do. Because this is the case, we decided on a 1920's prohibition theme with me wearing the black pinstripe suit(well, ballgown designed to look like a man's suit...pics to come) and he's wearing the white zoot suit. And living close to Moose Jaw (google it), it was kind of an easy choice. To keep costs down...well, who am i kidding...because I wanted to do it myself, I've made all of this!
The photo thingers have tested my patience, so they are a little wonkyand out of orderbut its all there. This is my bouquet made out of fake flowers, christmas balls, and pieces of wire twisted with pearl pieces and gems...i made a smaller one to toss. In one of the pics there is a naked torsothat is the FHso its not quite as scandalous as it looks. *wink* There are pics of the card box, the flask garters for me and my girls, including the tosser and a smaller one for my flower girl (which will be filled with orange juice, of course. It was prohibition after all*wink*) There are the mandatory I DO letters, and feather pens for the guestbook which is going to consist of a bunch of ribbons hanging from a curtain rod. When a guest signs they fill out this card and string it onto a ribbon and tie the knot. (pics to follow). I figured it would look fabulous on the wall in my craft room so we can look at it instead of collecting dust on the shelf in book form. The feather head pieces for my girls, who will be dressed like flappers. And our save teh dates that we made as magnets.

C & C welcome!

3  Re: Trash to Treasure Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BeltainE on: September 09, 2007 12:57:29 PM
Ok, so i'm hella late posting, and i offer my sincerest apologies! I LOVED the package i received and have put it to great use since i got it forever ago! The scarf is so warm and i get compliments galore whenever i wear it. The apron is so useful when i'm crafting, especially for the painting brushes that tend to get thrown all over when i'm crafting or the tools i need when i'm working with my newest discovery, decopage and paper mache! The tags are so useful and i think i've actually used abotu half of them already on gifts i've given. The botties are so warm! my dogs have taken a special liking to them: whenever iwear them they chase my feet! Thank you SO SO much for the awesome package, and again, sorry i took so long in posting. i know these are kinda duplicate, but i wanted to make sure i got them in here!

Alrighty. i finally have my pic taker up and running again. First is the amazing shirt which i love love because it's ariel sitting ona rock silhouette, but to everyone who isn't as cool as i am, it looks like a naked chick. Double bonus, right? it's a little big, but that's ok! I love hte feel of the fabric too, so soft and movable(yes, i knwo that isnt' really a word. lol) PS. forgive the stoned impression, i'm at work and not REALLY all there.

Next we have the picture of all the loot including the boredom buster box with alice in wonderland on it filled with poprocks, cards, riddles(very nicely done btw) some coloring felties with buzz lightyear and the princess' on them, what i assume to be a finding nemo pincushion with some button pins with alice, mater(woohoo), ariel, and marlin and dori, some stickers, a towel that you get wet and it becomes ramone, and some great pooh fabric which i am already putting to use  in the middle part of a jean skirt!

And, i think the best surprise was the back of the alice in wonderland box that looks like a book. it has these delicate paper flowers on it that i LOVE! so, i took a special pic just of those!

Oh yes, and there was a package of boredom busters for when i'm REALLY bored. I'll leave it to your imagination as to what is inside, but anyone who's seen my contraceptive purse will get it right away *wink* and no worries sarah!! i've been REALLY bored lately.  Grin

5  Re: Canadians Only Swap Gallery!!!! in The Swap Gallery by BeltainE on: June 20, 2007 03:24:29 PM
OK, so here is all the wonderful stuff I received!
First and most importantly, a new pair of flip flops with some great yellow flowers and white buttons. one of hte flowers fell off in shipping but with some quick shoe surgery, it came out aightThey even fit!
Next is the coffee sack beach bag whick fits my sketch book, my music making folder, AND a towel for after work when i go to the gym. *claps* There was a bunch of fabric pieces (i love the butterflies!) a fabric covered notebook which is being put to good use as i just got a promotion at work and was finding it hard to keep organized, a Mater pen (all i have to say is YAY!) a bunch of candies and a screw(Huh). and last but certainly not least is a sarong made with the most beautiful fabric and a buckle that i'm assuming is to keep it on. lol. it fits great, although it wraps right around me, so i'm not sure hwo the buckle is going to work, but where there is a will, there's someone who can help me figure it out. lol. no action shots cuz i don't have amirror big enough for a pic and noone around to take it Sad here's the fabric tho! the color seems REALLY off and i'm not sure why....it's a great bright blue.

So that's my stuff. i was so excited and AM so excited to be using it already! thank you so much! I sure hope d got mine. i sent forever ago...has anyone heard from her?

*claps emphatically* i got my phone back today! still crappy cam pics, but its' the best dig cam i have so here are the pics of what I received. The pkg couldn't have come at a better time. my best friend moved out of town that afternoon and i was feeling super crappy!  Cry then i get home and there's this pkg in my mailbox and it made it brighter... Undecided...then i opened it up and pulled it out and i actually SMILED! can you believe it!! LOL. ok, so without furthar adieu...
It's a pillow case...with nifty pockets on the front. without anything in it it kinda looks like a wrap shirt.
this is the pocket with my "just bought today" massage book in it
and this is the mighty zipper that is on the back to hold my unmentionables(also showcasing my book because it's hard to see with all the black and my crappy cam)  Grin

Thank you so much thatdarnpunk! it's so well made and as you can see, it looks great on my bed! the black doesnt' even show the dog hair that badly!  Grin I absolutely love it and it's going to get some amazing use in my house!!!

7  it'sa me! It'sa Marrriooo... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by BeltainE on: March 18, 2007 03:10:26 PM
Ok, so one day while i was *ahem* dumpster diving...I found this great, old, beatup drafters desk taht was covered in taped on "jesus loves you" inspirational sayings. I'm not THAT girl, so, I dragged that sucker home, spent 3 hours taking all the leftover tape crap off, sanding the adjustable table and metal down for painting. then painted the "legs" red and decided to make it mod with some leftover wall paint from my kitchen. This is all well and good, but something was in the back of my mind nagging at me that my new painting desk just wasn't FINISHED yet. It took my friend's 5 year old walking around screaming (in a fake italian accent) it'sa me! it'sa mario! for it to finally click. the table part is great 'cuz the back lifts up and down making it like an easle.

oh yeah, all the images are hand painted.

8  who says big girls can't wear wrap skirts?! pfft! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by BeltainE on: March 08, 2007 04:19:57 PM
I'm not a decision maker. if anything, i'm a wiffle waffler...so, i present the skirt that can do EITHER!
pleather, snakeskin looking on one side....
and fun ghosty print softness on the other...
the two together for details...

9  confuzzled but thrifty!(lots of bad phonecam pics) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by BeltainE on: March 08, 2007 04:16:54 PM
Ok, so i wasn't sure whether to put this is curvy or here. I've recently put on a TON of weight (thank you divorce and children...very much...lol) and don't have the cash to spend on "big girl" clothes, so...i decided to take to my existing wardrobe. this was a pair of jeans, that no longer fits my Pretty Hot And Thick (get it?) waist, so i was going to expand and make it into a skirt. while pulling it on over my head, it sit nicely as it was around my bosom, and the vampire dress was born..(it makes me feel like blade falling from the building with the whooshes it makes when i walk)
this was an old football shirt that my ex hubby used to wear all the time and i figure hacking it up was the least i could do.. so.....
a REALLY ugly pink tshirt that needed a little...je ne sais quoi...oh yes i do!  a slanty neckline and some tubing from another tshirt sleeves...
and finally, a shirt that used to be ugly blue, hacked off sleeves from another shirt, added to this one, added straps, ironed on a funmonkey, added some silver hole keeper things and voila...instant "i feel hotness".

10  My momma told me, to always come prepared (adult content) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by BeltainE on: March 08, 2007 04:09:05 PM
ok, so maybe "come prepared" is a bad pun for a purse made completely out of condoms and lube. the strap is made of condoms and hte purse itself is made of the condoms(yes the packages are still sealed so it makes it nice and bubbly feeling((AND INSULATED!!)). the flap over the top is lube. Why did i make a purse out of contraceptives? well a good friend of mine recently found out they contracted HIV, and aids awareness day prompted me to make a bag to carry around to *aid*(another bad pun) in the awareness because everyone asks why...and so the story! wihtout further adieu

*please please please let the photos work, it's my first pic posting...*
