1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Craftlister Banner Exchange program on: March 17, 2006 01:59:11 PM
Hey all-- Not sure if this is old news, but I just stumbled upon the Craftlister.com banner exchange program. Basically it's just code you put into your website, and they'll shop your ad around with all the other users depending on how much it's clicked. I've only been signed up two days and my ad's been seen over 400 times, which is pretty neat. Now, how to increase my clickthroughs... Smiley

Anyway, visit www.craftlister.com/banner_exchange for more info.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / KITTEN'S REVENGE (semi-adult content) on: February 13, 2006 02:05:25 PM
Hey- I didn't want to break any Craftster rules so I figured I'd include a disclaimer before I posted this.

Anyway, based on
this picture
that's been around the internet for ages, I made a Domo-kun cat toy that reverses the roles of attacker and attackee!

He's made of felt and stuffed with catnip.

Now kittens can no longer fear their evil tormentors! Take that, Kitty Monster! Smiley
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / "Cat food" catnip toys! (New Toys on Page 2!) on: February 13, 2006 01:57:09 PM
I've been a crocheting machine lately, making all sorts of food-related toys for my adorable supercat! Here's what I've come up with so far:

Lemon and Lime!
To make these little buggers, I cut open a ping pong ball and stuffed it with bells and catnip. Then I crocheted around the outside in a lemon/lime-esque shape. Embroidery thread made the faces! So cute!

Another ping pong ball creation, with a felt leaf head and a string for hanging from your finger.

A little more effort involved in this one. First I crocheted around the three ping pong balls, then I sewed a peapod together out of felt. I added a hook closure inside the peapod so that the whole pod could be used as one big cat toy, or the three "peas" could be taken out and played with one by one.

I'm also hard at work on a mushroom design... I hope you enjoy!

EDIT: I almost forgot! Here's the adorable Mr. Manny Ramirez, Supercat, checking out one of his new toys:

EDIT AGAIN: Sooo, the mushroom didn't work out so well. But I did come up with a grapevine and Kitty Tea (Catmomile?)-- they're on p. 2!
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Cat Toy Consignment? on: February 09, 2006 06:55:00 AM
Hey, everyone! I asked this question on another thread but thought I'd make a new post to get it out here in the open. My online shop is still in the formative stages-- eventually I'm going to have originally designed clothing and accessories, but before I can afford the materials to make big and intricate projects, I need to save up a little money. So for the time being, I'm making cat toys. I have a whole line of them in mind, actually-- my adorable-yet-vicious housecat is quite the inspiration. Smiley Because they are small, I know I could produce a lot more of them than my small shop could sell on its own. I'd love to do consignment, but I'm having trouble finding shops that are interested.

Does anyone know of consignment shops that carry pet goods? Or have any other tips for getting these bad boys out into the world? I would greatly appreciate it!
