1  Re: Mini 12 Days of Christmas 2017 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by stellato_escuro on: October 04, 2017 07:51:41 AM
I got my package from Yzzilnoaj and I am SO EXCITED!! She did such a lovely job of wrapping everything and threw in all sorts of yummy candy.

Even better, she included both my kids. They are both thrilled they were "remembered". My son doesn't look like it, but this was the only picture where they weren't both blurry from jumping up and down.  Cheesy

They are all now back in the boxes and safely stashed away for opening day. Thanks Yzzilnoaj. <3

I got my package from Helena Puck on Monday, and it is AWESOME!! First, here is a shot of everything together:

I LOVE this pouch!! I can't wait to use it. Inside there were 2 hoop ornaments with my kids names, taken right off my pinterest. There is also a little gingerbread man ornament made from a soda can, a cross stitched snowflake ornament and holly earrings.

Here is a closeup on the smaller items. The snowflake has little glass beads all over it. And the earrings are just perfect. Thank you Helena, I love it all. Smiley

3  Re: Junk Journal Gallery in The Swap Gallery by stellato_escuro on: May 26, 2017 07:21:38 PM
LovelyMiss made me the most delightful and beautiful junk journal ever. It is so think and loaded with little spots to tuck things that I will share my most favorite pages.

First, here is the cover and the cluster of charms hanging off the top of the spine. She even included a band to keep my book tidy.

Inside the front cover there is a little bookplate. This will soon have my name in metallic marker. Smiley

An inspirational quote and beautiful paper covered in Asian text, which I always love.

The layers are so interesting! Doilies, ledger pages, bank papers, printed cardstock...I love it all!

This little tag is stitched. <3

There is even a little notebook in the back.

Thank you LovelyMiss, this journal could not be any better. Smiley

Also, thanks everyone for your kind words about my book. Wulf, you exactly nailed why I did the weaving. I put it together and it felt really loose. Plus, the yarn looked kind of sad and half-assed beforehand. Even though I have done my share of book binding and visual journals, I have never made a junk journal. Now I kind of want to keep making them!

SonjaBoo also sent me a FANTASTIC bunch of loot.

Labels, post it and envelopes like crazy.

More labels and post its.

Washi tapes, clips and a bag of my fave pens. Plus, the pins have ellies on them!!

Finally, beautiful tags, evelopes and stickers. I love it all so much. Thank you Sonja Boo.

And thanks again to both my partners...I think you two have me 100% hooked on fun planner supplies. I even set up a special box just for all the goodies I got. Smiley

I got the most awesome package from Noooitaremybirthday Monday! I actually saved it and opened it yesterday morning while my car was in the shop. Here is the goodness:

I had to closeup on that last item because I LOVE it. I am a professional artist, so this band is going around my business planner. Thank you so much Nooo! <3

Woah, I have some catching up to do. I just read all the pages since my last post, and there are so many awesome projects!

Cmouse01: That sweater is lovely!! I have a stash of yarn for a crocheted sweater, and you have me thinking maybe I should make that someday.

Smeddley: Love the dog toys!

And here are a few things for me to share.

I forgot about a project I finished in early January. I actually started it almost a year ago. But since I was making it at the local ceramics shop, it was hard to find time to go into town and get it done. But it is now the crown jewel of my studio. <3

On Saturday, I cranked out two gifts from my list that were long overdue to some good friends of mine. The first was a hand-bound book for two bibliophile friends that got married in November. It is all blank pages so they can write love notes to each other.

The other gift is a trio of bibs for a friend whose baby came early. I missed her shower, but I still wanted to make her something.

Only one backlogged gift to go!

I have done ZERO crafting this year. That is mostly because I have been painting. So here is a work in progress to share.

Tree got home safe and sound last week. However, I am currently sucking at this whole adult thing, so I am just now getting photos up. Big fat apologies to my awesome partner who literally made my kiddos day.

My daughter is in first grade, and when I signed up, my partner agreed to tailor the whole box for her. This was all part of my goal to get her to learn more about other places. So here we go!

Box opening...

And happy to see Tree in her new skirt!

Very carefully reading the card. She read it all by herself with no help.  Cheesy

One of two things that tied for her favorite in the box, a tie-dye tee. She LOVES tie dye and wore it the next day to "show all her friends".

Her other fave thing was a kinder surprise egg. There is no picture of the egg because she INHALED it, but here was the toy inside.

The awesome album. It has sooo many cool pictures and brochures from everywhere she went. I am super jealous Tree got to see Chihuly glass.

Eamea also shared her favorite book from her childhood (so sweet!! <3 ) as well as a bag made from fabric she picked up in Egypt.

Tree was lucky enough to have the opportunity to sit with a master portrait artist, Eamea's niece.

She also got a new wardrobe. The St. Louis Blue shirt was a funny surprise. Three years ago, my husband went to St. Louis and watched them play. It is the only pro hockey game he has ever been to. We still ahve his souvenier cup from the game.  Cheesy We also got a magnet from Scotland. Tree got to go to friggen SCOTLAND!!!

Lola also got a button up shirt turned apron (cool!) and a new pillowcase just for camping.

I think it is safe to say we got a great partner, and both Little Visitors had a great time. Smiley

I have been really behind sharing pics too! BUT Aurora has been having a grand time.

Mid July, her and I went to Tippet Rise, a new place where sculpture has been installed on a working ranch. You can do walking tours, bus tours or attend live musical performances. We hiked nearly seven miles together, then listened to a non-traditional percussion performance that it turned out two of my friends were part of. Here, she is pictured taking in an Alexander Calder sculpture.

On the way home, we got food at a summer must-stop, the Fort Rockvale Quick Stop. She stopped and talked to the resident bears and than we shared jalapeno poppers and a huckleberry shake.

During MontanaFair, I did a live paint. She came along to supervise the setup.

Last week, we also took a trip to my home state of South Dakota. On the way, we stopped in Deadwood at Chubby Chipmunk. They have the BEST, massive, luster-dust covered chocolates. I sadly did not realize the pic turned out so blurry. Sad

Of course, we had to stop at Wall Drug. For the food and jackalopes.

Through a change of plans, we also ended up at my favorite clothing shop in the whole world.

Thankfully, now that school has started, I think everything is going to calm down a bit. We still have some fun cool things to go do, but (hopefully) I will be better at posting pics in the home stretch. Smiley

I am so jealous of Tree right now...that shop looks awesome!!

Aurora has been having fun as well. Two weeks ago, she came with us on a family camping trip to Emerald Lake.

She also stopped with us at the Fishtail General store to get food and a gift to bring home after her travels.

Just this past weekend, she also went backpacking. My husband and I hiked up to Blue Lake in the Crazies. Here we are surveying the part of the trail we already covered.

She also approved of the very small tent.

And a view from (almost) the top. We started at 6,500 feet elevation and topped out at 8,300. This picture was taken around 8,000 feet. The bottom of the valley where the trees turn into a field is where the truck was parked.
