41  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Hogwarts Rock Stars on: August 20, 2006 02:24:40 PM
While I'm not that much of a rocker, I loved the idea of knitting dolls.  So, I used the Knit Your Own Rock Star pattern and made a Luna Lovegood (from the Harry Potter books) doll.  She turned out so cool that I decided to make a Harry Potter one (he turned out not as good... for some reason his head perpetually stares to the right!!).  I haven't made anymore because Harry was such a bear to knit, but here they are!   Grin   Questions/comments are always appreciated.

44  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: FO: Violet Beauregard Skirt in... violet! on: August 15, 2006 11:11:54 AM
This only cost you 9 dollars!?!?  Sweet!  I made one in the Tahki Cotton, and have it on right now.  Grin  I agree, it's definitely a low rise skirt because of the weight.  Your skirt looks great on you!

Your slippers are adorable, too!  Hello Kitty never goes out of style.
46  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Bunny slippers (and a variation!) on: August 07, 2006 07:54:49 PM
Hi, my name is Gina and I am a long-time lurker, first time poster.  If I made any mistakes in my first post, please tell me so I can fix it straight away!  I have been knitting since 2003 and just recently took up crochet this May after seeing all of the funky patterns in the Happy Hooker.  This bunny slipper pattern was just too cute to pass up, so I decided to try my hand at some tan-colored bunnies.  I double stranded Cascade 220 (the color was Sunflower) with Rowan Kidsilk Haze.  I don't remember that yarn's color, but it was almost an exact match!  Here are my results!

And to get the full effect, here is me in the morning with them on!  (My mom made the pom-poms for the bunny tails!)  I added more to the heel of the slipper because I didn't like how they were flopping off of my feet all the time.  Other than that, I'm very happy with them.  I also painted carrots on the soles of my slippers with fabric paint to prevent me from slipping and breaking my neck!

And now for the variation!  My little sister just turned 17 and wanted me to make her some slippers.  We found this ridiculously yellow mohair at my local yarn shop and had the sudden inspiration to make Pikachu slippers.  I used Cascade 220 (the color was Goldenrod) and Katia Ingenua mohair this time, and got bulkier slippers.  I'm very pleased with the results!  (My sister is too, she calls them her Pikashoes.)

That's all for me!  I love this website and enjoy seeing everyone's creative projects!  Questions/comments/feedback wiil definitely be appreciated!   Grin
