love it!  A tutorial would be great.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Noro Bradshaw - Knitted Knee Length Coat (Image Heavy) on: October 17, 2007 05:44:37 AM
Gorgeous!  I have always loved that pattern, too.  I buy every one of the Noro books, because there is always a must-knit in each of them.  I do like to see finished items, though.  It is nice to see it somewhere other than a photo shoot for the book.  Sometimes they don't always look as nice in real life, but yours definitely does.  I am going to have to add it to my ever-growing list of must-knits.  I just searched out your Doctor's bag.  Another beautiful knit.  You have great taste in your knits!

Love your bag.  I have been wanting to make this for a long time. After seeing your finished bag,  I decided to take a class at Wildfiber to make this.  My only dilemma is which yarn to choose.  I have quite a bit of Malabrigo Worsted  that would be nice, but I am wondering if it is too soft.  I know it suggests Manos, which is a bit rougher than the Malabrigo.  I would love to use something I already have, but if I am going to go spend so much time knitting this, I want to use the correct yarn.  Decisions!  I have to make them quickly, because we start tonight.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: new knitter too ambitious? on: October 14, 2007 01:39:31 PM
Everyone is different.  Only you can truly know your comfort level.  I say go for it, though.  I have always been an ambitious knitter and enjoy taking on challenges.  I can usually figure stuff out by reading the instructions or finding help on the net.  I have other friends that are so afraid to take on anything that looks difficult.  They think they need to go to their LYS every time they start a new project.  I would hate to be tethered like that.  I have learned so much just by taking on projects that were probably out of my league.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What were some of your favorite projects as a beginning knitter? on: October 08, 2007 11:02:47 AM
One of my favorite knits was the Klaralund Sweater made out of Noro Silk Garden from Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton's Book No. 2.  It is super easy, but it made me feel more accomplished, because it was a garment.  It is very wearable, too.  It is one of my favorite easy knits.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Exotic Habu Textiles Scarf on: October 08, 2007 07:14:57 AM
Super cute dog and the scarf is really pretty.  I love Habu yarns.  I always get overwhelmed when I see their booth at Stitches West.  There is so much to choose from.  I have visited Habu's studio in NYC, too and that is also overwhelming.  Their yarns are so different.  I would love to knit something up with them.

I am glad you enjoyed Wildfiber.  It is one of my favorite yarn stores.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ravelry! Extra invites... on: October 07, 2007 08:56:33 PM
It has been moving a lot faster.  Only 263 people in front of me.  I have been waiting for 2 months!  Looking forward to checking it out...finally.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My favourite jacket on: October 03, 2007 04:29:44 AM
Very Nice!!  I love it.  I would like to make something like that....someday!  I haven't done any fair isle yet.  I would like to learn, because I really like the look of colorwork.   Your sweater looks professionally done.  Great job.
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Tilted Duster from IK Fall 07 on: October 03, 2007 04:24:21 AM
I really like that color of green.  I like just about any green, though!
I think it will be great when it is finished.  I really liked working on this project.  All of the other colors are inspiring me to do another.  A friend of mine decided to make one after seeing mine finished, so I might just knitalong another with her.
