2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Joining yarn... help! on: March 04, 2006 02:44:31 PM
I'm a new knitter (obviously.) To help me out in my self-teaching adventure, I bought an awesome knitting book. Sadly, it doesn't have much info on joining yarn.. just a little paragraph, and I'm not sure I'm understanding it right. Could anyone give me a simple explanation on how to do this?? Is it as complicated as I'm making it seem?

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / One Skein Wonder Pattern? on: March 04, 2006 02:41:37 PM
Does anyone have the pattern to the One Skein Wonder that they could share? Or must one purchase it from Glampyre's site?? Just curious.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Wanted: Long-Sleeved Cropped Sweater Pattern on: February 28, 2006 01:56:10 PM
Hey all,  Grin

Let me get right down to it.... I like shrugs and boleros, but I'm getting a little tired of the opening in the front and would rather have something like a long-sleeved cropped sweater. And, when I say cropped, I mean not too much longer than right under the boobies. I haven't been able to find anything, so if there's a pattern out there, (for free), I'd love to know about it... and... is there any way I could make a regular sweater, and not do the entire body length?? How would I figure that out? Yes, I'm new to the knitting world and it shows... who's the cool kid?  Roll Eyes

Thanks a million x 2.  Cheesy

I've looked at the tutes on this site.... but they confused me a little. Can anyone give me some simple directions, or is it really just complicated to make them? Anyway, I'd love to make a bouquet for my lovey this Valentine's, but I don't know how!! Any help would be awesome!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Anyone Know How To Make Dollar Bill Roses? Help! on: January 26, 2006 05:37:38 PM
So, I've been trying to find a good site to show me how to make dollar bill roses.... I know it's out there, because there are links, but it seems a lot of them are down. Anyway.. if anyone could explain it to me or show me a good site, I'd be thrilled. I wanted to make a bouquet of these damn things for my lovey on Valentine's.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Make Tissue Paper Flowers and Juice Jar Vase!! on: January 26, 2006 12:57:07 PM
So I've been a crazy craft-searching fool lately. Here's another link I've come up with. It's rather simple, but I dig that. Anyway... here's the link. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for other flower petal templates, or just use this as inspiration and design your own (you crafty chicas, you!)

Happy V-Day!
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Simple Origami Heart To Put Notes In!! on: January 26, 2006 12:19:12 PM
Wow... so I've been online for hours looking for cute origami hearts, roses, etc. for Valentine's Day. So, when I came across this origami heart, I thought others might like to give it a try too. I love how it has a little pocket to put your secret Valentine's notes in, or whatever. Makes a great substitution for a card. Smiley
Here's the link:

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / How Do I Make These Paper Fortune Cookies?? on: January 22, 2006 06:49:11 PM

10  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / makeachildsmile.org & anysoldier.com on: January 21, 2006 09:11:37 PM

I came across these two websites... www.makeachildsmile.org and www.anysoldier.com

Make A Child Smile features sick children and their addresses so you can send them encouraging mail and maybe even a little gift (a great craft opportunity!)

Any Soldier is a site where you can find the addresses of US soldiers who are overseas and have asked for mail from back home. Also, they list what kinds of items they need that you could send over, as well. Not exactly completely crafty, but I still thought it deserved a mention.
