1  Crafts Around the Apartment in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by thiticalcrinking on: January 25, 2007 09:29:43 AM
I've been a member of Craftster for a long time, and over the past year or two I've completed a lot of projects for stuff around the house.  I thought I would finally share some of these projects to celebrate my new digital camera.

A three panel wall hanging I made from canvas boards and tied together with twine.  Each of the three panels is were painted with things you can find around the house.  The top panel was a bottle cap for the circles and a spoon to drip paint.  The middle panel was made with a fork to scratch the paint on.  The bottom panel was made with string dipped in paint and thrown onto the canvas board.

This is a two-parter.  The painting was done with some friends in honor of my art history class last Spring on contemporary American art (a la Jackson Pollock in this case).  The lamp was made out of a Frangelico bottle with a lamp kit and shade from Lowes.  I wanted to make this lamp for so long, and I finally finished it last semester.  I even have a Buddha head made out of Sculpey and painted that I'm going to put to cover the brass lamp part.

This is one of the many record clocks I have become quite adept at making.  I really like using bottle caps instead of numbers (though it can get quite hard to find twelve different caps from my collection).  These are super cheap and awesome presents since you can get the motor from a clock at the dollar store and cheap records are easy to find.

This is a decoupage box I made from cigarette boxes from when I was in Europe this summer (Germany, Netherlands and Czech Republic).

Another box I made from playing cards that were giving out at my university fall of my freshman year.  I go to USC (the real USC--South Carolina), and it was homecoming...the theme was Cocktoberfest since we are the Gamecocks.  There's a matching Cocktoberfest clock as well.

Another Pollock painting in Gamecock colors of garnet and black.

One of many record bowls.  I raided my parents' old record collection and made these for all of my friends, since I had quite a few requests after the first set I made.
