91  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: my anti-waldorf dolls on: July 27, 2007 06:22:16 AM
Hysterical! I am a sometimes airy fairy waldork handworker for sure, but I am so mad at my daughter's Waldorf school right now, I needed to laugh at those!  Thanks for sharing.  Those are great!

Gorgeous!  Good pick on the color for your shoes and the outfit just rocks.

Are they comfy?  When I wear fishnets sometimes they hurt my feet inside my shoes.  I would think the silk would help.

I don't know where you live, but I have friends that drive to a yarn manufacturer in Ohio and get bags upon bags of free roving.  It's just dregs from the spinning or whatever, but it's all very, very usable.

I didn't notice if anyone posted this -- doesn't mean it didn't happen, I forgot my glasses today!

I have let upholstery shops know I would like their scraps.  The best is when they give you the old sample books. I love those.  I have the best luck in funky areas of towns I have lived in as far as cool fabric.  I have the best luck as far as willingness in the suburban areas.

Once in Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, I left with 5 big black garbage bags of the best scraps ever.

Your dolls are cute!  and they are holding up.

I don't know if I am allowed to swap yet, but if you do a swap, I'd like to do it too!

This is my favorite Waldorf dolls book (and I have quite a few).  It has detailed photos of every step.  And I like her necks best.

ok, my links stink.

I think I was thinking I was on a sew along site.  But swapping is good too!

Hi, I'm new... I would be all about a sew along.

How does it work?  Do we decide on a project then go with it?

I am making my 9 year old some reconstructed skirts with tons of fabrics she's picked out over the years and scraps.  Right now we are using Asian brocades.  I made a top out of the cut off legs too.

I need to figure out how to post pics.

Craftinmyassoff, your kid is freaking adorable!

I am new to craftser so if you tell me how this works, I am all over it.

I especially like to make wacky mermaids, but those are usually for older kids.
