13  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Easy owl journal on: February 09, 2008 12:53:56 PM
The owl says "Hoot."

14  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Baby skulls on: February 09, 2008 12:41:09 PM
I stenciled a bunch of skully onesies for my partner in the Great Skull swap. I did 2 in fuschia, 2 in black.

15  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Bleach stencil DISASTER (but I turned it around!) on: February 09, 2008 12:37:54 PM
I had the great idea to do a bleach stencil on a reconned black denim skirt for the Great Skull Swap. Unfortunately, I decided to use freezer paper for the stencil (since I've had great luck with it in the past for paint stencils) and the bleach bled all over the place, turning my awesome skull stencil into a vaguely skullish blob.  I rinsed and threw the thing in the dryer. I loved the skirt, and didn't want to just trash it, so being the resourceful crafter that I am, I cut another skull stencil (out of freezer paper) and did the stencil in black paint over the bleach blob. I think it turned out pretty cool.

16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Skull plush rattle on: February 09, 2008 12:32:28 PM
I made this skull plush rattle for my partner's baby in the Great Skull Swap.  It was really fun to make!

17  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The moon is made of green flowered fabric! on: February 09, 2008 12:28:01 PM
I made this cute owl bag for my partner in the owl swap.  I had the green flowered fabric hanging around, but I just knew I had to use it for this bag! The satin stitching around the applique took me about 20 years to finish.

Keeping with the owl theme, I used owl print flannel from Joann's for the lining

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Skull and pink plaid hobo bag on: February 09, 2008 12:24:01 PM
I made this plaid hobo bag for my partner in the Great Skull Swap.  It's my first time making a purse in this style.  I lined it with black skull print fabric, and cut out one of the skulls and appliqued it to the front of the purse with fuseable interfacing (love that stuff!!)

I wish I had a better picture.  The gray and pink of the plaid are actually a lot darker.
19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Owlie zipper pouch on: February 09, 2008 12:02:02 PM
For the owl swap, I made my partner this cute zipper pouch. I love it so much!

This is the front.  I had this cute printed fabric that I used for a dress, and I kind of saw an owl-face shape in the pattern. Other people saw it (after I pointed it out). My roommate actually had the idea for the owl horns. He's so smart!

This is the back.  I used this owl print fabric I got off ebay.  The inside is lined with a brown and light blue patterned fabric (I didn't take a pic of it!)

Sorry for the crappy pictures; my roommate usually takes pics for me, and he was at Mardi Gras, so I was forced to use photobooth on my MacBook to take the photos, hence the hand holding up the pouch.
20  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Poster Boy Bag (AKA the awesome David Bowie Bag) on: November 29, 2007 07:26:13 PM
This is my second go at the poster boy bag. The first one I did in Lotus Pink and Brown, and gave it to my friend. She washed and dried and shrunk it Sad

This one is all for me! I knit it a while ago, but just finished lining it today. I knew I needed some lining material that would rock hard, and I think I found it!

Whatcha think?
