It's done!!!  I decided against the third row of purple and black, as that would make it too large for the lap/couch blanket that I want it to be.  It only took me three years!  Woo!   Grin

I want to finish this.  I really do.  I want to do 2 more changes of color (for a total of three stripes of purple), because I think stripes always look better in odd numbers.  *sigh*  I will finish it, one day.

HAHAHAHAHA...2 and a half years later, and I'm still not finished.  I'm working on it again now, though.  I *will* finish this silly blanket.  Smiley

ETA:  The aforementioned boyfriend is now my husband, we have a 6-month-old daughter, and his silly star is still not finished!

I love Savannah, and DF and I plan on living here for a long time (we've discussed retirement here, but that's a looooong way off).

Sadly, the only decent yarn shop I've found near here closed down awhile back, and I didn't even get to go to the closeout sales!!!   Cry

A.C.Moore in the Savannah Mall (not the Oglethorpe Mall) has a good selection of yarns, and there is a JoAnne's and a Michael's.  I think Hancock Fabrics might have yarn, but I haven't checked.  There are several of those around. 

As for thrifting, I haven't had the chance to do much of that yet.  I've only been here a year.  But, I've found awesome things in yard sales...check out the paper at www.savannahnow.com and the yard sales are in the classifieds on Friday and Saturday.  I don't know of any groups, but I might participate if I found one.  We may be moving to Richmond Hill soon (will still work in Savannah). 

I'm a crocheter in my 20s, and I'd love to learn to knit.   Grin

I've been away from Craftster and away from crocheting for a couple of months because life just got too busy.  Well I was in the bookstore the other day, and realized that I just had to buy SnBHH.  So, I'm a third of the way through my first Fat Bottom Bag, and I have a question.

I went to the store to get handles.  I decided that I do not like the round handles, but I didn't want a shoulder strap, either.  So, I bought a pair of U-shaped handles, kind of like this:  http://www.createforless.com/products/productDetail.asp?ProductID=79011&SI=61501ee7-1bc8-4d03-b3b9-f0a0328ce286

Has anyone tried these with a FBB?  How do you attach them?  I did a search, but couldn't find anything.  Any advice would be wonderful!   Smiley
