Absolutely great how you enhanced the fabric with the contrasting fabric borders & your embroidered applique.
Your embroidery is so very impressive.

A pattern would be great. I think my little great granddaughter would like one as she is into things that growl.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What Am I Doing Wrong?-Purl on: September 12, 2009 08:00:09 PM
Are you being sure to shove that horizontal bar down with your left thumb so you are just going into the actual stitch that is going over the left needle? (hmm, that's assuming you're not doing continental style knitting.)

Found a link for a pattern.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Her posability puts her beyond wonderful!!  Her very own patch of grass sets her off admirably.
I would love to buy her pattern when you've made one. Thank you.
8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Amigurumi Angel (With Pattern!) on: August 29, 2009 10:07:21 AM
How could your great aunt not love her?!!  I'm sure my great granddaughter will love the angel. She is fascinated with buttons so this little angel is perfect.
Glad you discovered using the Magic Circle for your amigurumi. It revolutionized my crocheting when I discovered the technique.

The six-feet tall part would definitely be a challenge. I'm thinking you'd need like a large cardboard tube (an empty tube that carpet comes on? or are there large thick cardboard mailing tubes?  or is there such a thing as a giant dowel?) But then you have to put it into something that won't topple over from the height and weight. Well if it was wood, it could be nailed to a wood base that was buried in a very large flower pot with sandbox sand.
If you used multiple strands of yarn & used a giant crochet hook to create the stitch that fusbdgt gave a link for and then made a tube that way, gathered the top, just put fiberfill in the top part to maintain the roundness, pulled that over the more solid object, then do tube arms shaped with wire & fiberfill like starfishsea suggested..............maybe, just maybe it might work.
Definitely keep us updated.     Grin
