1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: zombie pig purse ( sorry so many pics, i'm, just so proud!) on: September 27, 2006 05:59:16 PM
That is very very awesome.  Did you ever consider making the inside lined with a bloody looking thing, like the Carrion Bag (ya gotta scroll a bit) on Morbid Tendancies?  http://www.morbidtendencies.com/art-nfs.html
2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Crazy Tropical Bird Slipons (Majorly image intensive) on: September 15, 2006 06:27:32 PM
Thanks for all the compliments! Smiley

Sporkchick - Surprisingly the paint on the rubber is staying very well.  When I first put the paint on that part of the shoe, I wasn't expecting it to stick, but I figured I'd try.  I put several layers on the toe part and then just one layer around the edge.  The edge is wearing on spots of most use, like the front of the toe, you can see in one picture, but I think that it would work very well if it was painted with several layers.
3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Crazy Tropical Bird Slipons (Majorly image intensive) on: September 12, 2006 04:57:32 PM
Here's the mandatory before picture:

Those are their sisters anyway, these particular shoes were a horrid creamy off-white color.  But what a steal, at $3.24 a pair!  That's like 20 pairs of shoes for the price of one!  Wow.  And not even too bad looking.

And here's the revamped pair, together.

This is the tropical bird on the outside of the left shoe.  He's what started it all.  I began by sharpying and penning him on one shoe. Then I broke out the acrylics and went pink-paint-happy.

The back of that shoe.

This is the bird on the right shoe.  I spent a lot less time on the right shoe, because I just wanted to get done at that point.

And the top/other side of the right shoe.

And the mandatory action shots.

Keep in mind that these pictures were taken after I'd worn the shoes, so there may be scuffs here or there.

These are the first shoes I've made, lemme know what you think!  Cheesy
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / What on earth can I wear with this? swap idea...? on: August 28, 2006 11:19:46 AM
Okay, so I'm sure everyone has something - a pair of shoes, a purse, a necklace, whatever - that you saw and HAD to have, because it was SO cute...but you got home and realized that it didn't go with any of your clothes.  So you can't really wear it...but you love it so much.  Well, what if we had a swap where you design an outfit (or some clothing, a purse, jewelry, whatever) based on /something/ of your partner's?

For example, I just bought the cutest shoes on the boardwalk, and I love them to death, but I don't really have anything to wear them with.  I think a purse to match them would be perfect, because then they could compliment each other and I could wear them with just about anything.

What do you guys think?  Good idea, or not really?
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Newest Mohair Bear from a Newbie! on: August 15, 2006 02:47:19 PM
WOW!  Your bears are AMAZING.  I love Tommy, he's so cute!  And, I would kill for Chad.  Chad is my favorite, he's sooooo adorable.  The way you make these is incredible.  And /how/ does your husband make the faces?
6  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Re: Hunter S. Thompson Fear and Loath - Swap Angel Needed! on: August 08, 2006 01:34:03 PM
If you still need an angel, I'd be happy to do it.  What are the details of the swap?
7  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES / RAWR I'm a bat. And I'm sleeping so shush. K. Cool. on: August 06, 2006 05:42:27 PM
I was totally working on this awesome little thing with mice and beer and yeah.  But then.  I got online just now and I was like OMG it's the 6th.  So, I don't have time to finish that, so I'm gonna enter this instead.  Which I did first and then decided to do the mice.  Okie.  Here are the bats.  I'm going to use them as a pendant on a necklace.  The leaf they're on measures 2".  Each bat is about 2/3".

Enjoy.  Comment quietly, cause they're grumpy when they wake up.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Does anyone know how to do fiber jewelry? on: August 04, 2006 02:16:37 PM
Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen anything with fiber jewelry (not macrame) until njadean.  I absolutely love that stuff, but I can't even imagine how she makes these.  Do any of you do anything like this, or know how?

9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Sleeping Ghost Bats - aww on: August 04, 2006 12:52:38 PM

General reference pic:

The leaf is exactly 2 inches long, the bats themselves are about 3/4 of an inch, each.  The back of the leaf has a loop to make this a pendant on a necklace.  Sketched the design last night.  Now I just have to make the cord and beads for the rest of the necklace.  Aye.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: i want to live where i can wear coats all the time on: August 04, 2006 07:25:41 AM
I absolutely LOVE the coat!  It's gorgeous!  I would buy it in an instant, if you had these for sale.
