I love them! I so need a pair right now. Thanks for the tute! The generous spirit on craftster always amazes me. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to share something too.

Pretty far out. I would just caution anyone not to look with kids in the room. Mine were kinda freaked out.

I'm a sucker for tea cozies. Yours is great.

Well, thanks alot. You just made MY case of knitter's ADD worse! It's too cute to resist, and I must make one, despite the chorus of protests from my unfinished projects in all corners of the house.

How about a lined make-up/pencil bag. You could use a pretty stitich pattern or graph the logo of her favorite band or even her initials.

Thanks for all your replies! As it turned out,  parent participation was 'encouraged' so I ended up hauling endless buckets of water and sand, and boy, am I paying for it now.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitting at the beach? on: October 06, 2006 09:31:59 AM
Hi all. Tomorrow my daughter is going to be in a sand castle building competition for about five hours. I can't imagine just sitting around on the beach all that time doing nothing, but I'm wondering how wise it would be to bring my knitting. Any one have experience knitting at the beach? What would be the best way to keep the sand out and does the salty air do anything funky to the yarn? Thanks for any tips!

Thanks everyone! We are very lucky to have the grandma living so close by so that she can pass down her sewing skills to the grandkids. They do amazing craft projects together and are really getting into making clothes and blankets for their American Girl dolls.

I've taken craft projects into my kids' classrooms and their classmates are just starved to be creative. Unfortunately, a lot of kids today don't get the opportunity to craft at home.

Thanks so much! I'm constantly amazed by her creativity. Just give her some paper, tape and scissors and she's off. As long as there is a Craftster contest, you'll definitely be seeing more of her work!

That is one grouchy looking monkey! I think you have a hit here. It would be so cool if you could put a voice box in his chest so that when you hug him it'll say "f*** off" or something obnoxious.
