1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Summer Swap? on: April 24, 2010 03:11:38 PM
So Summer is pretty well here and I know we are all excited!!

Who would be interested in a swap for all things summery, fun, and things that make us happy?

Since summer is fast approaching sign ups would have to start relatively soon.

Would anyone be interested?

Details of swap:

Okay on to the good stuff!

This is a swap for everyone to make some stuff off of eachothers wists. I know personally I have a bunch of stuff on there that I really want but never get around to making. You can make things from or based on a wisted item on your partners wist. For example if some one has pets and has a bunch of pet toys wisted you could send some dog/cat toys, not necessarily exactly like the one on the wist.

Before you sign up make sure to go through and edit your wists, take off things you already have or don't want anymore. Also make sure to mark things YOU want to make, not have made for you, as private.

You must have a wists account to join this swap.  You must have a minimume of 80 wisted items, 50 of those being craftable items.

Please restrain from signing up right away if you do not have many items on your wist, you have two weeks to fill er up Smiley

Well be using the point system for this swap.  Youll have to send your partner 5 points of items.

Small Item = 1 point
Med Item = 2 Points
Large Item = 3 Points
For new swappers there might be a bit of a confusion as to what is a large, medium, and small item, so here's a handy guide:

Small = By time, 2 or less hours of crafting. By $$$, $10 or less. By size, Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

Medium = By time, 2 or more hours of crafting. By $$$, $10-$30. By size, one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf

Large = By time, 3 or more hours of crafting. By $$$, $30 or more. By size, A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse
This is not totally set in stone, but is a rough estimate of sizes described by time it takes to make package, by physical size and by cost.

All participants must check in at least once a week by posting in this thread.

If your partner is within the US, you MUST get a DC and pm it to the organizer and your partner. If you are within Canada and have a canadien partner you MUST get a tracking number and pm it to the organizer and your partner.
Be aware of the comments section on wists, someone might add something and you go to make it, but didnt notice in their comments that they would only want that item in a different color.

Important note: Remember to take pictures of your items before you send. If you are unable to for any reason please PM your partner to let them know. It is not a requirment to post pictures but please be curtious and post pictures in a timely manner, your partner works hard on what they send.
And most importantly HAVE FUN !! Smiley

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / WIST swap on: December 26, 2009 11:27:26 AM
So I was thinking of possibly doing a wist swap, something like one medium 2 smalls or 1 large 1 small.

Basically we'd choose stuff off of our partners wists and craft them some funs stuff.

Signups, I was thinking, would start late January early Feb. and would send either end of Feb or March.

What does everyone think?
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Advent Calander swap on: October 10, 2009 09:31:24 AM
Ok so this would be a farely large swap.

Basically you would make an advent calander out of whatever materials you wanted, cardboard, fabric, your choice and fill each day in Dec. leading up to christmas with a small gift.

These gifts would be super small, and could be; tree decorations, rings, earings, toys, candy Tongue anything you want

The calander and atleast 75% of the tiny gifts would be handmade.

If this happens I would want to start signups soon and only have then last 5-7 days. Send outs would be mid November? that way you would have a month to craft...

Wht do you think?
