1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Felt cameras and sewing machine *Added TYPEWRITER page 10* on: August 21, 2007 09:05:25 PM
The science of sleep! did you see that movie? the girl in the movie makes all kinds of weird things out of felt and one of them is a typewriter! i love it...she also made an old fashioned telephone, it was not divisible by anything but one and itself (prime) haha. amazing work.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: 3 Layer Stencils... on: August 19, 2007 07:42:09 AM
i just changed the image to black and white with a xerox machine and then drew out each layer with pen onto vellum (im sure there's a much easier way to do it on the computer) but eah then cut out each layer and spray them one layer at a time. yeah...that probably made no sense.

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Space Magenta from Rocky Horror on: January 03, 2007 06:05:31 PM
so i wanted to be something from rocky horror but not something that had been done to death so i decided to be space magenta...most people thought i was a trekkie or something but oh well.
i used some weird gold material that was like vinyl or something and some clear plastic stuff which i spray painted black.

thanks for looking!

the sharpies were the easiest ones, i just bought mini sharpies and put hooks and jump rings on them. they come in handy when im in the mood for guerrilla grafitti...

what exactly are the ornaments (made of)? did you buy them like that and stick earring bits on them?
are the cassette ones really big?

the disco balls already had loops and i just put earring hooks on them, the star didnt have any thing attached, i guess they were made to just lie around so i stuck a push pin in and curved it over to put the earring hook...and no the cassettes are pretty small because they're those tiny ones for an answering machine.

and thanks everyone for your comments
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: what are those cartoon photo booth things called? on: August 28, 2006 11:41:27 PM
super easy if you're a good painter, plus if it's for kids that's even better kids are small so you could just use a big peice of cardboard with holes in it and rest it against a couple of chairs.
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: I Need Ideas And Suggestions For A Hollywood Themed Party on: August 28, 2006 11:32:37 PM
our drama club had a hollywood themed banquet and basically we did everything in red black and white.people had to dress up as some famous movie star, musician or movie character (i was bjork...with the swan) we made all the center pieces to look like movie reels, loud speakers, and clapboards (they're made from cardboard ribbon spools and paint) sorry the picture's crappy but i wasnt aiming for the centerpeice when i took it.
i set up a backdrop so people could take memory pictures.

i believe we had a red carpet at the entrance and a sign that said hollywood above the door.also, a black and white balloon arch looks good AND occupies space which is always good.
for favors we bought small plastic champagne glasses, glued tiny bowties on the stems and filled them with kisses.
put cardboard stars all over the place, it looks really nice.
we always do a hall of fame thing, with a voting ballot and the winner of each category gets a gift that matches the category.i.e. most ditsy got a can of chicken of the sea (jessica simpson=ditsy)  you get the idea.get a projector if it's possible and show a movie or a slideshow of everyone. as someone else said, you could have your parents or someone stand around with cameras and be annoying paparazzi.as far as themed food goes, i'd say don't worry about it other people won't care but if you really want you can make chocolate dipped strawberries that look like tuxedos or cookies that look like film reels.

Basically you can do anything with this theme so it's pretty easy and can be very low budget if you make everything.
