11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Crocheted Jewelry on: May 09, 2007 03:12:06 PM
This is my first attempt to crocheted jewelry.  I used washers to make them.  I'm really happy with the results.
I got the idea from a Crocheted Jewelry book.

The bracelet in this set is a little too big, but I'll correct it  next time

This is my work in process:

12  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help with Moda Dea's free pattern on: March 01, 2007 09:05:10 AM
Hi all,
I go some yarn at the dollar store near my house.  It's Cartwheel from Moda Dea, so I decided to work an this free pattern from their website.  http://www.modadea.com/patterns/LM0173.htm
I checked the gauge and it seemed to be correct.  However, I'm not sure if it will turn out OK because I chose to make in size medium according to the finished dimensions given.  Unfortunately, it looks way to big.  Could it be that the yarn I got has not an even spinning?  some parts are really thin and some are thicker.  Has anybody tried to work on this pattern?  Any suggestions?  I'm afraid that if I do the small version, it would be way to small for me to wear it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.
13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Family Circle Easy Crochet Magazine Spring 2007 on: February 08, 2007 06:11:46 AM
Has anyone seen Family Circle Easy Crochet Magazine Spring 2007?.  I love it.  I got it last night and has so many cute patterns that I want to try.  I am not too experience in crocheting, but are they as easy as they rate them?  Is any one interested in trying the boxy cardigan?  I want to try that, but using Homespun from Lionbrand since they are of the same weight, Bulky 5 and I have tons of them in purple too.

Hi my fellow knitters,
I am working on a bookmark patten that I found on line.  I am using cotton thread #10, but the sides are curling up and it looks so loose.  I'm trying to make my stitches as tight as I can.  What am I doing wrong?
This is the link to the pattern

18  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Yarn substitution for Moda Dea on: November 09, 2006 08:46:07 AM
Huh  I was checking Moda-Dea's website and they have beautiful free patterns, but their yarns are SO EXPENSIVE (at least for my budget).  How do you substitute yarns?? can someone help me??
I would love to make myself this top http://www.modadea.com/patterns/LM0173.htm
and this jacket:  http://www.modadea.com/patterns/LM0242.htm
and so many others but.  How can I find a more reasonable cost yarn that can work with the patterns??
I would appreciate your help.
