41  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tape Measure Belt. on: January 15, 2005 04:26:55 PM
I'm not sure whether this is in the right place...
One of my friends paid $30 for what appeared to be a reinforced tape measure with a buckle. So, being a craftster, I made my own.
The buckle cost me nothing, as it came from my collection of vintage buckles and buttons. The tape measure was a couple of dollars from a sewing shop. I still havent cut the little metal thing off the buckle, and excuse the bad pictures. It looks upside down AND backwards, because i took it in a mirror, but it is only upside down in reality.

It is sorta more decorative than anything else, but i feel special that i saved $28 Cheesy
EDIT: I think i got the pics working...
42  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Globe 510 on: December 24, 2004 12:52:00 PM
I recieved a Globe 510 as my first sewing machine for Xmas. It is completely different to all of the sewing machines I have ever used. I have absolutely no idea. At all. I need help with everything. *grumble* it also came with a broken needle, and no spares. It also came with a box of shiny metal things. What do they do? This machine is from the 1970s/60s. Help me craftsters! If no one knows how to use mine, does anyone know about ones sismilar, or globe machines in general???
43  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / [ACCEPTED] shoes child board on: December 23, 2004 08:35:53 PM
There are lots of reconstructed shoes here- why not a board of their own, maybe as a child board within Clothing: Reconstructed.
44  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Cat Fur on: November 23, 2004 07:12:31 PM
My cats moult an abnormally large amount for shorthairs. The cat brush gets FILLED with hair in a matter of seconds, so, i am left with massive clumps of cat fur. What can I do with this??? All i've done so far is throw it out onto the lawn for the birds to make their nests with, but it is still drifting around 3 weeks later.
Any ideas?

Thanks craftsters...
46  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / 80's Gear on: September 21, 2004 01:46:37 AM
Hello Fellow Craftsters,
This year, my dance school is doing "Fame" as our end of year production. For those of you who don't already know, Fame is a musical based around a performing arts school........ (drumroll please) set in the 80s! I don't have much in the way of 80's gear, except for a pair of legwarmers. I would like to look genuinely 80's, but still remotely normal. You know, nothing too OTT. Crafty ideas, I welcome you!
47  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Silky Scarves on: August 26, 2004 11:06:36 PM
My friend and I recently visited our op shop, and got 4 silkish scarves for $2, then another 2 for $1.50! They look like.... 1. Red with white dots, large square, 3 cm rip in the middle.
2. Black large square.
3. Long, 15 cm wide, goes around my hips once with a knot,  white.
4. "         "  "    "        "      "          "  "      "         "  "  "       , Black.
5. "         "  "    "        "      "          "  "      "         "  "  "       , white with grey and black thin stripes.
6. Pale peach, small sqaure.

We have used the long ones as hip ties, very slightly cut the peach one into some corsages, but then we hit a wall. We have been redoing clothes, and we are interested in that, is there much we could do with the scarves? Skirts? Tops? Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.
48  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Braces Bands... on: June 12, 2004 03:34:54 AM
heya y'all
I am about to get of my braces *Yay* and for my last month i don't have to wear any bands!!! As i changed types every month or so, i have about 10 small bags of them (each bag originally had about 100 in, and i've used about 1/3- 1/2 of each bag.). I have 2 or 3 bags of large-ish *by braces standard, by7 real standard they r TINY* clear 1s, and the rest are slightly smaller, with the colours: Pink, Purple, Orange and Green. Apart from flick them at people, and attempt to tie up my INCREDIBLY thick hair with *didn't work*, they are worthless. Does any1 have any idea on what 2 do w/ them?
49  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Baby gifts- might b in wrong place?? on: June 05, 2004 03:22:04 PM
I'm not exactly sure where this goes- move it if this is wrong  Smiley
Anyway, i have two little twin cousins, who are 1 in a couple of weeks. I would love to make them something, but i'm not really sure what. Any ideas would be appreciated.
p.s. i don't have a sewing machine, not can i knit, nor do i have any drawing skills *i.e. my cats look like trees*, so that rules a few things out  Wink
50  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Bag Design- HOW??? on: May 16, 2004 12:49:11 AM
I Have designed a simple bag that i would like to put a simple design on2. It is just a design w/  lines, no coloured in bits or anything- and i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how i can transfer the design on2 it- it is gonna be just plain cotton-ish material.
