We found a house!!! Were currently in escrow. I cant believe it! It feels so so fast.

And it has space for a craft room!!! Grin Yay!!!! Its a really small room but I wont have to squeeze all my craft stuff into the office.

Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly with the inspections, etc.!

Love seeing everyone's work!  I am in a creative rut, y'all every get that way?  I have before and the only way to snap out of it is to do some stuff but I'm so bleh lately.

Oh definitely! Sometimes it helps to try something new or to do something small that I can finish in one sitting. And sometimes I make myself push through it (like for class work or paid projects). But often I just walk away for while and come back to it when it feels fun again. Maybe a break is in order? If the bleh goes beyond crafting, maybe its a good time to focus on self care?

Yofi:
I love the felted dryer balls! I think Im going to have to try that myself!

Quaggy:
Wow! So many tissue holders! They look really good! I bow before your sewing prowess.  Smiley

Mistress Jennie:
Your Woven hanging is really pretty! I love the colors! Did you DIY the loom you made it on?

Thanks for all the sweet comments on the cards! Especially about my hand writing. I dont feel like my writing is very nice. I just wanted to give pinteresty hand lettering a try so I watched a couple YouTube videos for beginners.  Smiley

tendstowardschaos: Your shawl WIP is so so pretty! Is it crochet? I just love the textures and colors!

Jennie: Great ear warmers! The yarn sounds amazing! Ill have to check out that company. I love businesses like that!

craftylittlemonkey: Good idea about using the fleece for something pet related! A ferral cat shelter would have been perfect at our old house. We had a family of stray/ferral kitties behind our house and thats actually how we ended up with our cat. We think he got kicked out of his colony because suddenly this six month old black kitten with an owie on his nose started following our dogs around in the back yard. We thought he was going to be untamable but, after getting over his fear of people and indoor noises, he turned out to be the sweetest darn cat ever.  Smiley

I just watched the first episode of Tidying Up With Marie Kondo. I liked her book but Im having a harder time getting into the show, probably because the first husband wife couple just seemed awful to each other! Anyway, we tried following the KonMari method when we moved. Sort of. I didnt use her specific order, and I didnt talk to my stuff. But I did pull out all my belongings and ask myself if I actually like and use each thing. I like that you decide which things to keep rather than which things to get rid of. And I love her folding method! Its wonderful to open a drawer and see everything right away.

KonMari-ing my craft room was more challenging. Somethings were easy to let go of, like a whole bunch of cheap acrylic (because Im a yarn snob Wink). But for other things I kept thinking maybe Ill need it later. And I probably kept a lot of things Ill never actually use.

I made some cards with some decades old watercolor paper I had. Its not the biggest stash buster but it was fun to play with watercolors and a little hand lettering.

My big goal this year is to organize the chaos and be a Stash Slasher.  *Dons the superheroine cape and strikes a dramatic pose, knitting needles raised in swordlike salute*

Cheesy Haha! I love Stash Slasher! And yay for letting go of stuff that doesnt work for you.

Hi folks! I havent been on craftster for a hot minute. But 2019 seems like a great time for a destash. Smiley Weve recently moved from Tennessee back to the west coast and are currently house hunting. And I think were downsizing because holy heck is real estate expensive! So I think my craft room stuff is going to have to share a room with our office stuff. I already donated a trash bag full of fabric and another of mostly acyrlic yarn but I still have more than I need. So I think a destash is in order. Smiley

My goals are:

1. Make at least one thing per month
2. With mostly supplies I already own (okay to buy a little, like if I run out of something I need, etc. but the majority must be stuff I currently have)
3. Everything I make needs to be:
a. Useful to me and/or my family, or
b. Something pretty to hang on the wall, or
c. Something I can sell, trade, or gift away

Im thinking I should make that hat I bought pricey yarn for thats just been sitting in a bag. And I should figure out with to do with all that fleece I got from a farmer years ago thats just been sitting. I was going to spin it into yarn but that seems too ambitious. Then I was thinking about needle felting something out of it? I dunno. Any thoughts? Its jacobs sheep wool so its pretty coarse and some is white while some is a blackish brown color. Ive washed it, but theres still bits of hay and burrs and things stuck in it.
