This is so awesome! I love The Living End. Glad to hear you've gotten some vision back and can stitch again!

Looks like an easy project, right? That's what I thought when I started. I got the idea from padfoot's Doctor Who chibi embroideries (thanks padfoot! https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=381619.0) and decided to do a chibi version of my boyfriend's favourite comic book character with an image I found on deviantart. On my first go I managed to mess up the crayon tinting; on my second go I finished nearly all of the stitching, only to discover that I had reversed the image, so the scar was on the wrong side of her face, and since my boyfriend is kind of a purist (read: anally retentive) about these things, I scrapped it and started again for the third time, and thankfully managed to finish the damn thing, nearly three months after I first began. Most annoying project ever!

Thanks barbie. I ended up just colouring it in with fabric markers after all, but next time I might try your suggestion.  Smiley

I've just finished embroidering this picture of my bf's favourite comic book character, and I'm not sure how to finish it off. Her hair, outfit and sunglasses are supposed to be black, and I was planning to colour those bits in with black fabric marker once the stitching was done, but it has now occurred to me that if I do that, the black will be really dark and she might just end up looking like one big black blob. I thought then that I could paint it in with, I don't know, grey fabric paint, but I tried it on a piece of scrap fabric and the paint runs really badly and looks just generally crappy. My next option might be crayon tinting, but I don't know how that will work on an already stitched picture. Also, the sunglasses are tiny, and I don't know if I can colour them in without getting black crayon outside the lines. Are there any other options for colouring this thing in?

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Stitched Nicknames on: June 07, 2011 11:41:51 PM
My nickname  for my bf is "pervert" and his for me is "tease," so I stitched them up, framed them, and now they're sitting on our bedside tables.

These are great! I especially like the empty child one, that "are you my mummy?" was so creepy  Smiley
