1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: yay for summer! - tutorial added on: May 24, 2004 03:22:21 PM
my skirt is based on someone else's tutorial that i referenced in that post. here's the link again: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=3372

good luck!

Were there any major changes to the tutorial to make this skirt? I mean, I can see that the length was changed, the fabric is different, and buttons were added to the side, but other than that, is it the same?
I love how it gets a little wider bit at the bottom, but not too wide. Did you have to do anything special to the pleats to get it to do that?
Was it difficult to get the stripes and the pleats to match up?
The contrasting vertical/horizontal stripes on it are very visually appealing.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: swinj! wallet on: May 23, 2004 06:59:33 AM
ALot of people say it reminds them of a popcorn package, like when its just laying there.

A popcorn package would probably make a really neat design on a wallet too, but the bag would probably be sticky...

That's awesome! You did a great job on it and the colour/design choices are fabulous.

Very nice. I love the design that you chose from the magazine, it's very visually appealing. It looks very sturdy too, like it won't be falling apart soon.
How did you get it to be a tri-fold wallet? All the vinyl wallets I've seen have been the kind that fold in half.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Stuffed felt Cuttlefish -- Cthulu on: May 22, 2004 07:22:28 AM
That's so adorable! Was it hard to make? Did you use a pattern? It looks so cuddly. I hope your boyfriend liked it.

They're gorgeous! I especially like the skirt. Did you use a pattern for them?

The shirts you made are very fun. Did you screenprint, stencil, or what? I love the Beatles and shopping cart ones best.
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Cross-stitched Freddie Mercury on: May 19, 2004 01:42:34 PM
That's amazing. Is it terribly difficult to turn regular photos into cross-stitch patterns using photoshop? Maybe if I re-teach myself how to cross-stitch, I'll try this out. It's very fabulous.

Your teddy bears are so, so adorable. I absolutely adore them. I've never seen a hand-knit stuffed animal like that before. Was it hard to make?

The first reminds me of Pucci with a different kind of... twist? (I think that might be the word I'm looking for.)
The second reminds me of Sgt. Pepper's. I love the closures on it.
