1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Anthropologie inspired drapey sleeveless shrug pattern - Help! on: August 12, 2010 05:12:00 PM
Hello fellow crafters!

After giving this much though, I've come to realize I need some knitting gods/godesses help.

I've been drooling over some drapey sleeveless shrugs I've seen online an hoping to knit one. Finally I found the perfect yarn, but I'm a bit confused on how to make one. I know some knitters have knitted rectangles with sleeveholes.... but it's not really what I have in mind.

So this is the dream-shrug....

I know its crocheted, but I was hoping to knit one... Any good ideas on how to knit it?

Or do you think it has to be crocheted?

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / COS dress on: September 23, 2008 09:56:31 PM
Hi everyone  Smiley

Alright, so here's the deal. On my daily visit to one of my favorite fashion blogs, I stumbled into what looks as the most practical-awesome-relativelyeasytoknit item I've seen in my entire life.

I mean... I need this.

But, how the hell is this knitted? In one piece? Maybe first the body and then the sleeves? Sideways?

Please fellow craftsters, I turn to you. I want/need/love this. But I need help!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ringo have a banana Vest on: July 17, 2008 06:56:47 PM
Hi everyone!!

Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. I've got this extra cream beautiful yarn that I'm dying to make a cute braided vest out of, but I can't seem to find any decent pattern to at least start with.

Being a regular visitor of the Ringo have a banana blog, I fell in love with the vest she's constantly wearing on her photos. Can you help me on knitting a similar one? Here are some links to photos.

Thank you everyone!

isn't she adorable?
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / polka dots and cold nights on: May 14, 2008 06:15:19 PM
Winter is starting here in Peru, and staying at home during this cold cold nights seems like the best plan.

This skirt goes back almost a year and while its actually a summer skirt (due to the lightness of its fabric) I only seem to wear it during wintertime. I don't really know why that is. Maybe I just like it with the black tights and booties.

It has three sections, which are separated by thin black velvet strips. Over every strip there are tiny pleates of the next segment's fabric... grrr. That didn't make any sense (ocassions like this show me my english is not half as good as I sometimes think).

I wish I had a better camera, I could show you some of the details which to me, make it a lovely skirt.

There are some more photos on my blog,

Thank you for looking!

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Anthropologie inspired tam on: April 21, 2008 09:33:25 AM
I've got to admit it. I'm an Anthropologie sucker. Everything they sell just says cuteness to me... And after seeing Blair (from Gossip Girl... yes... terrible guilty pleasure) wearing the Anthropologie's Lothians Tam on an episode last week (we are far behind on the episodes compared to America) I knew I had to knit it.

The tam, unfortunately, is no longer on the Anthropologie website, so I couldn't really take a good look at it. I also didn't really have enough yarn to knit it as I would have liked, yet, I think its a fine attempt and will keep my head and ears warm during the upcoming winter!

I didn't really use a pattern, just kind of knitted it as I went by.

Thank you for looking, I'd love to know what you think. For some more info and photos, you can take a look at my blog  www.mapofthepiano.blogspot.com. This is the specific post http://mapofthepiano.blogspot.com/2008/04/inspiration-gossip-girls-roman-holiday.html
