1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Sophia Loren Stencil w/tutorial on: June 08, 2004 11:18:14 AM
Inspired by y'all, I made my first stencils this weekend. Has some bleedage issues so I'm not supper pleased with them.  I used acrylic with a fabric medium. Has anyone used a fabric paint? I saw them at AC Moore by the the screen printing matirials and I was wondering if they might work better. I like the spray paint idea too. Maybe the stencil wasn't secured well either. Hoy, so many possible problems/fixes. Good thing the shirts only cost two-fiddy.
2  COOKING / Dessert / Ice Cream Cake? on: May 26, 2004 01:37:38 PM
Any one have a good recipe for an ice cream cake? I want to make one for friend's b-day this weekend but so far I've only found recipes that are more like pies with ice cream filling but no cake. I may just end up making a good ol' mud pie....

There are a couple more vintage style thrift stores in Tacoma Park walking distance from the metro. Polly Sue's (I think that the name) is my favorite, on Carrol Ave a few doors down from the bead store. I want to through a costume party every time I go in there just so I have a reason to by a pretty dress. My husband found a complete pink suit there with a frilly pink shirt and everything to wear to a prom party.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Favourite theme party(ies)? on: May 23, 2004 06:21:42 PM
The Washington post just had a little article about having a wig party where everyone has to come with a wig. White trash parties are always a good time. Went to a Super Hero party too once complete with a middle-aged, beer bellyed Superman and the Culinary Avanger (arch nemisis of Martha Stewart).
Oh and one more, a prom party..

I'd be up for it. A friend and I have been talking recently about getting together for a craft night.
