1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Wool on a spool on: June 21, 2006 03:22:28 PM
I just found lots of different colours of wool on a spool and I have no idea what to do with it. I thought it would work in my sewing machine but it doesn't. It's the thinnest ever, and I've never knitted/crocheted before in my life. What do I do? What is it called? Maybe I could figure out what to do with it if I knew what it was called.
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Sewing with wool? on: June 21, 2006 02:56:40 PM
Can you sew in a sewing machine with wool? I bought some really cheap, really thin wool and tried to put it into my sewing machine but it didn't work. If you can, can you tell me how? If not, what do I do with this mound of thin thin wool? Is it for crocheting?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Old plaid pyjama pants from the 90s on: March 31, 2005 06:03:50 PM
Do you guys have these? You know the kind with the drawstring that people used to wear around?
What did you do with them make pleated skirts out of them?
I'm trying to decide, I have like, five pairs or something from living inside all year long at Carleton U. (There's tunnels underground) If you want pics I can make some, but I think it's pretty obvious.
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Millions of press kits on: January 21, 2005 09:21:33 AM
Hello paper people.

I don't know if you guys can use these things, but I have an ARRAY of decorative movie themed folders from 2004, I work at a newspaper, and they throw these things out after taking out the glossy photos out and using the information about the movies in articles etc.

They all are the kind of portfolio type folders with two pockets. If anybody wants some give me a message, you'll just have to pay for postage and I will send them out. They would be cool for keeping notes in at school I suppose.

Here's a list of the movies that I have, if anyone wants a photo of a specific one I can post that up too. Usually the folders have the exact same photo as the movie posters in the theatres, but sometimes not.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Japanese-ish shiny green coat (Donna Karan 1998 pattern) on: December 30, 2004 02:54:08 PM

8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Tell me how to cut my hair on: November 27, 2004 02:37:21 PM
I want to cut my hair. It is a little past my shoulders and wavy and it is going to be bleach blonde soon. I don't know what to do. What are some good websites or pictures of trendy good hair?
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Huge coat ----> legwarmers and vest on: November 01, 2004 02:08:43 PM
This is not so impressive-looking, but it's puts this ugly ass huge coat that I got from my aunt for Christmas one year to good use I think
I just cut off the arms and hemmed them for legwarmers and resized the rest of the coat by measuring one of my other vests good... that's about it... too bad the zipper was so long, I had to cut off the stupid elastic at the bottom

Oh yes, I am so sexy... Now I won't freeze at the bus stop

Does anyone have suggestions for embellishments?
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Seam ripping technique a.k.a. proof I married the right guy on: November 01, 2004 12:31:33 PM
OK... I must be dumb, because I have been using the seam ripper wrong MY WHOLE LIFE.
It took me FOREVER to rip out seams because I wasn't putting the ball part of the seam ripper INSIDE the seam, I was putting the pointy part inside the seam and the ball part was on top....

My husband just taught me that the ball end should be inside the seam and it goes SO MUCH FASTER!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ahahahahahahaha what a dumbass I am!

So I am posting this in the hopes that anyone who is using the seam ripper wrong will get it right before they waste thousands and thousands of minutes ripping seams BACKWARDS
