1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Thank-you gift for grandma who did my ENTIRE wedding? on: July 18, 2007 06:52:01 PM
My grandma has been a total angel during my wedding. buying and altering my wedding gown, picking out and sewing my bridesmaid dresses. Paying for food and most of the whole shebang. She has also lent me money when I was in a bind in the past, and I wanna do something to thank her for always being there in my life for me. She likes:

-crime dramas (like cold case, and bones)
- the PAX TV show, Doc.
- books
- she does the video dept of my church (send out tapes of services and transcripts them)
- cooking
- gardening

any ideas on what I should do for her?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Bragging on the vintage stash i just got!!! on: July 16, 2007 07:24:51 PM
A very lovely older lady in my church gave me a bunch of her mothers' old craft things. I got a couple dozen vintage patters (including one for SMOCKING!), a monks cloth afghan kit, tons of yarn, knitting and crochet patterns, kinitting and crochet needles (including cable knitting needles!), 10 pillowcases with cross-stitch patterns on them, aprons, scarves, cross stitch supplies, etc. I am in crafting heaven!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Sexy Wedding night gift? on: July 03, 2007 12:23:47 PM
I am getting married in 6 weeks and I wanted to get him some sexy novelty gifts for our weddingnight to "lighten the mood" (it's my first time).....I was thinking a novelty love coupon book and some novelty condoms I found at the "adult" store. But what else can I put in there? What could I make for him? I can sew and crochet wekk, and I do cross stitch and woodburning. Any Ideas?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Fall Wedding Colors? on: May 29, 2007 09:49:46 PM
ok, so after much months of discussing it, me and my honey are making wedding plans. We are most likely getting married in the early fall and I need some trendy fall colors for my theme. I finally decided on a country victorian theme.

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Wild West/Cowboys and Gals Swap? on: May 25, 2007 10:13:29 AM
I am sure there are a lot of western lovin', country girls and guys on here. Does anyone want to do a western-themed (and when I say western, I mean cowboy/girl) swap? We could craft a lot of different things, since the wild west encompassed everywhere from california to the west side of the mississippi river, and parts of mexico and canada. I myself, am a HUGE  fan of cowboy novels by Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey, Larry McMurtry, and others. John Wayne movies are soo cool, and did you know he was a writer, too?

so, is anyone in?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / re-sizing a cheongsan? on: April 21, 2007 07:30:42 PM
I have this size xxxl cheongsan that I paid waay too much money for and it needs to be revamped. I was wondering how I could resize the bust without making it look dumpy? It has darts and I was wondering if I could just adjust the darts to make it smaller?
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / NEED HELP! Jersey knit fabric into formal gown? on: April 06, 2007 12:39:13 PM
I have 2 wonderful yards of glittery camo fabric, courtesy of jloveg that I want to make into a formal gown. I need it for a formal event thingy that happens after my boyfriend's graduation from boot camp. I thought it would be a cool surprise if I had a camo dress. The trouble is, I dont have any patterns that are good for jersey knit fabrc and I may have to freestyle it. ny suggestions? links to tutes? also.........would red or black accessories (shoes, purse etc) be good for this fabric?

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Red Hat Lady afghan on: March 12, 2007 10:10:20 PM
I call it that because it reminds me of a red hat lady with the colors. I made it with no pattern from red heart's bright and lofty in jelly bean and whatever that shade of purple is named. It is very warm and soft, the spftness surprised me cause I have a scarf from that yarn and it is rather thick like a carpet.
