OH! That pic is SO CUUUTE!
She's adorable, ain't she?  She seriously brought her china and got everything out of the tupperware, assembled the nice tiered platter, in her apron.  So lovely.  Thanks Martha!  Smiley

Awww...you flatter me!  Here's a wonderful pic of the CRAZY-COOL crafting aprons that SerialCrafter made for EACH of us!  We got to pic from the most amazing color combinations!  What a sweetie!

And when I told her that I wouldn't dare put my super-pointy scissors in the pocket because they would poke through the fabric, she gave me her hand-made, beaded sheath!  Check it out!

Wow!  We so belong to a true 'mutual admiration society', because I admire all of these women and their unselfish ways!!!

Hugs all around!

46  UPDATED: RecycleMicol's first ever wheel-spun singles - Now Plied in Spinning: Completed Projects by RecycleMicol on: February 22, 2007 11:31:09 PM
Okay, "y'all"...

My friend let me borrow her saxony wheel that is over 100 years old today.  I've never spun on a wheel before and this is what I came up with today.  (I got pink roving to ply with some chocolate brown...as I'm liking the combination lately.)  I'll post the finished plied yarn when I get the brown spun and plied with the pink.

Now, I haven't had any training...she just dropped it off and told me how to change the bobbin and such.  I think I'll do much better on a more modern wheel because the little hook thread guides (what are they called?) are all rusted and jaggedy in places and the yarn would catch on them all the time.  Angry   I would file them down to smooth them IF it were my wheel, but it's not.  I don't think she would want to replace them, since they're part of the whole 'antiqueness' of the wheel.

This one is a little blurry...it's one in the morning...so, just lamp-light.

What do you think?

On our way out the door....here is my card for my hubby, since I plan on traveling the world someday.  (Lyrics to Relient K's song I'm Taking You With Me. Yet to be released.)

I asked my husband to make me a Valentine ATC instead of buying a card this year.  Of course...it made me cry!  He spent an hour and a half in my craft room and came out with this:

I made the little heart that is on the front with 'pucker up' on it while we were dating. He had dug out his old treasured memory box to make it!

Notice the ART in heart?  Cute!  I told him I loved it, BUT....then he laughed.  He said that wasn't the RIGHT side!  Here is the front of the card:

We exchanged Winnie the Pooh quotes from a daily calendar back and forth all the time at work when we were dating.  He was Pooh and I was Piglet...yes, I KNOW Piglet is a boy....but they are best friends like we were best friends...and my hubby was a lot bigger back then, and yes...I was a lot smaller!   So...that's one of our notes from 9 years ago.   Cry Kiss   He did a great job of cutting, too!

Of course, then my 3 yr. old daughter wanted to make me one, so he took her in the craft room and helped her.

So special...now I have to get one from my Stepson and I'll have a complete V-Day collection for 2007!

49  Re: JANUARY ATC GALLERY in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by RecycleMicol on: January 30, 2007 08:07:00 AM
I received ToothlessHag's 'Sunlight and Moonlight' Eye cards, and look at the wonderful hand-made sleeve they came in! (She posted better pics of the cards earlier.)  They're amazing!!!  She used a template to make the sleeve.

Thanks Haggie!

50  Re: PAT (Pick a Theme) ATC swap, Round 1 in The Swap Gallery by RecycleMicol on: January 28, 2007 11:45:30 AM
Nevermind...if you have a better pic, you can post it, AM.  I remembered that I needed to post my whole collection anyway, so I busted out the camera.

Here is AM's card!  It looks so amazing in person!  Even the back is gorgeous!

Then, here they are all together:

Top row-OriginalYouth, SquirrelGirl, AlteredMommy
Bottom row-Rackycoo, Bobolink, Katxena

Then...to see the book I'll be putting them into:

And my entire collection thusfar:

Thanks everyone, for a fantastic swap!
