71  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Meet Giblets on: July 29, 2006 11:44:46 PM
Giblets, everyone. Everyone, Giblets. He is my 6th sock monkey, and my first one i actually get to keep! *YAY*

Giblets is a pretty laid-back fellow.

And he likes to pretend he's a green tree snake. I guess a green tree monkey is close enough.

72  COOKING / Dessert / Cake help! on: July 25, 2006 07:51:55 AM
My man is getting his motorbike licence next month and i'd looove to make him a motorbike cake to celebrate when he passes!

Im guessing the easiest way would be to cut a rough motorbike shape out of sponge and ice it all white, then pipe on a simple motorbike outline and fill in some colours.

When cutting cakes before ive had tons of problems with the first frosting layer. I know it's always gonna be crumby but mine tend to completely crumble. Is there some kinda trick to this that i don't know about?!

Any one have any other suggestions/ideas? I can't seem to find just a simple non-detailed drawing of a sports bike to copy from either...gah.

I found these pics on Google images, and i guess i wanna do something similar.

74  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Uno cards on: July 23, 2006 12:24:35 AM
I've done a search on here but all i can find is Purses & bags, and i'm not so much into that idea. Anyone have any cool wall hanging ideas or anything? I'm drawing mind blanks and i really just wanna DO something with these damn cards!
Fun little fact: It's amazing how many people use the term "Numero uno" on here too Cheesy
75  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sock it to me, Monkeys! EDIT: Now with more Monkeys! on: July 13, 2006 09:45:26 PM
YAY my first post *of* anything! I've recently caught the Sock Monkey bug. This is my family so far! I think they're pretty decent for my first attempts.
Here you will see Unnamed (yes, that's his name) who was a gift for my Fiance's mum, and Wonky Wilbur (the purple one.) He was a gift for MY mum.

And a closer shot..

And, my fave to date, Shelby! He's the guard-monkey at my work.

Here's Amond, a birthday pressie for my best friend,

And Wiggles! He was for a guy at works son.
76  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Biker in a box? on: July 12, 2006 09:10:15 PM
Ok, so my fiance is currently taking motorbike lessons and he's buying a sportsbike really soon.

I'd love to give him something congratulatory when he passes his test, but the question is what!?  Huh I was planning on getting him some riding gloves but her went ahead and got some already  Angry

I love the idea of Biker in a Box but i can't think of anything to go *IN* it. See here's where the problem is. Has anyone got any suggestions? What do you or your boyfriend/girlfriend find handy if you're a rider? The only thing i can think of is bandages in case he has a stack  Cheesy
